After finishing her book, Bridgett decided to go for a walk in the castle. At first she didn't know where to go, but once she realized she wanted to go somewhere quiet. She decided to go to the towers. It was there or the library...she was tired of studying; the towers sounded a lot better.

Carefully she walked up the steep tower stairs; hoping not to trip. With each step it got colder. Thankfully Bridgett was prepared. She put on her black and pink hoodie that she had been carrying in her hands over her pink shirt that she had changed into earlier that night. Along with her pink shirt, she was wearing a black skirt with pink and black stripped leggings under it.

Once she got to the top, she walked over to the nearest window. She looked out to see beautiful yellow stars shining back at her. Smiling she closed her eyes and made a wish. "Let this year be a good one.'

Opening her eyes, she continued to stare at the stars and think. Today had been good, but it was obvious that Dylan and Cat now knew that she was keeping a secret. But, it was also obvious that they both had some of their own. Hopefully though, no one would find each others out.

Still, Bridgett hoped that she would become friends with Dylan and Cat. Even though they had been fighting the whole time, they seemed like nice people. Everyone had flaws and Bridgett definately needed some new friends.

Dylan walked around the castle aimlessly. There was no point or reason to his late stroll. As he went from one tower to the next he ran into several people that he knew. He didn't go out of his way to speak to any of them because he was in one of those moods. He didn't really feel like talking to anyone.

He was lonely and depressed after the events of the day. While he had made one new friend, he felt as though he had lost any hope of making another. With a sigh, he opened the door to the tower and he walked inside.

He was surprised to see Bridgette sitting there on the windowsill. He half smiled at her as he closed the door. Her face seemed to glow in the moonlight. She really is pretty isn't she? he thought as he stopped moving in the middle of the room. He looked out her outfit and he decided that she surely had her own style. He hadn't met anyone in his life who had dressed like her. Granted, she dressed like a muggle and he hadn't spent much time hanging around muggles in his lifetime.

"Good evening," he finally said after a few moments of silence. He walked closer to her and as he did he said, "I hope I didn't give you the wrong impression earlier. I'm really not that mean, well I try not to be. Sometimes it can't be helped."

He gave her a half smile as he hoped that she'd buy what he was saying. It was true that he wasn't usually a cruel person. There was just something about Cat that pushed his buttons.

Lost in her thoughts, Bridgett was shocked to hear Dylan behind her. She didn't hear him walk up the stairs at all. She jumped a bit and then turned around and smiled at his apology, "That's okay. You didn't give me the wrong impression at all; you seem like a very nice person. I just think that some buttons were pushed earlier today and you and Cat both had the right to be defensive." she paused, "I'm used to randoms bouts of anger. I don't take offense to them much anymore."

She glanced back out the window and then looked back at Dylan, "After all, I wasn't acting like myself either."

It was true, her personality had changed a lot over the last few months. She didn't like that it did, but she was having a hard time finding her old self. Who knew, in time, her old self might just randomly come back. She was looking forward to the time it would. If it didn't, she just wished that she could find a happy medium.

Switching topics, she said "So, what brings you up here? I myself needed somewhere to think and I also love watching the stars."

She looked back at the stars and motioned for Dylan to join her, "It truly is a beautiful night." she said with a large smile.

Dylan walked closer to her and instead of looking up at the sky, he looked down at the grounds. He could see Hagrid walking across the grounds with a lantern floating along side of him. To his left, he could see the lake and what he thought was a giant arm floating out and quickly dipping back inside the lake.

"Oh I'm glad," he said without looking at her. "I'm," he paused for a moment, "I." He couldn't find the words. They seemed to be floating around his head somewhere, but they were blocked by an imaginary field of nothingness. "Well Cat an I, yeah I don't really know how to explain it. We aren't friends. We kind of were, but then we weren't for really no reason at all. I guess I was rude to her or something," he finished with a hint of regret in his voice.

"So," he said changing the subject, "I'm up here because I wanted to be alone. I just felt like walking. Then I found you up here." He looked directly into her eyes before looking away quickly. "What are you doing up here?"

"Ah well. Things change. One minute a person can be enemies and the next they can be friends." Bridgett paused as she thought what to say next, "If I were you, I wouldn't write Cat just off yet." she nodded, "That's just my opinion. You're the one who has to make the decision on what to do."

After she finished her sentence, she switched subjects like Dylan had. She already sensed the change of tone in his voice, so she didn't want to push it. They both had had a stressful day.

"I needed a break from the book I was reading. It just made me realize that I still have a few things to sort out. So, I needed somewhere quiet to think." She looked at him, blushed and then looked back at the night sky. "The towers seemed like a good place to come and think."

She pulled her hoodie closer to her and then added, "Even though somedays I do like being alone, it's nice to have some company."

He smiled at her and then he noticed her pulling her clothes to her more tightly. "You must be cold," he whispered before taking off his jacket and putting it around her body. "There that should help," he finished with a little smile.

He didn't want to talk about Cat any longer. Having Bridgett tell him that made him want to push her as far away as he could. He turned to her and he smiled. It was obvious that he no longer wished to discuss Cat.

"I know what you mean. Sometimes sitting in silence with another person is better than actually being alone, but sometimes you just need a break from everyone to sort stuff out. If I walked in on something that I shouldn't have, please don't hesitate to let me know. I'll leave you alone if you'd like."

He was trying to be polite to her despite the fact that he didn't really want to leave. He wanted her friendship. He needed her friendship. Though he did not realize it, his desperation to be nice to her, to befriend her was his own way of making things better with Cat. In his mind's eye, it made sense, despite the fact that deep down he knew that it wouldn't truly make a difference.

Bridgett's face grew even redder when Dylan put his coat on her, "Thanks. I wasn't expecting it to be such a windy and cold night. It's just been so warm for the last few weeks." she said as she took a deep breath and then smiled.

"No, no. I really enjoy the company. I've had plenty of months filled with quiet and loneliness that it's nice to be able to talk to someone." she said, "Talking to someone, no matter what it is about helps me feel like I belong at Hogwarts."

The more she talked to Dylan, she didn't feel as bad. She was actually starting to feel like she wasn't a stranger at Hogwarts. That was saying a lot because Bridgett had already thought that she was going to have a very lonely year.

She looked back out the window and when she did she saw a shooting star. She pointed to it and smiled, "Make a wish." she said and glanced at Dylan.

"Oh you're welcome," he said to her as she thanked him for the jacket. "I used to know this warming charm. My grandmother taught it to me. She said it'd come in handy, but alas, I've forgotten it. She was right you know. She usually thinks she is anyway."

After a few moments, Dylan heard her demand that he wish upon a star. He looked at her incredulously. He hadn't wished upon a star since he was a little boy. He would have objected, however he felt as though objecting would have been a bad idea.

"Well, I think I will," he said as he looked out at the star. He whispered on, "I wish I may, I wish I might on this star I see tonight," and then he went silent. He wasn't sure if he was suposed to say his wish in front of her, but wishes were personal things. Once he finished wishing, he said, "I wished for world peace and happy little puppy dogs and flowers."

He smirked at her and then asked, "What did you wish for?"

Bridgett smiled, "I forgot there was such a charm. It seems like there are charms for everything." she said and thought with a frown, 'If it wasn't for charms and magic, I would be back at Beauxbatons.' she forced a smile, "If I do remember it though, I shall tell you it."

After hearing Dylan's wish, she rolled her eyes and then burst out laughing, "I think you just read my mind. I guess I have to think of another one." she paused, "I know, I wish I can make some more friends."

"That or become a rich and famous fashion designer." She smiled, "Still, I think I will go with having more friends. I really do like hanging out with people." She recalled one of Dylan's statements from the afternoon. "After a while books can get rather boring, they really don't hold a good conversation." she said with yet another laugh.

She couldn't believe she was having such a good time. She was starting to think that she would be her old self in no time. That was if she didn't mess anything up in the mean time.

"Well if there weren't charms for everything, there wouldn't be much of a point to being a wizard now would there?" He smirked at her silly comment. "I think I could remember it if I tried, oh well."

"I don't think you'll have much trouble making friends. I just think you need to get out more. You've got me and Cat." The words made him swallow a bit. He didn't like saying the names together. "Respectively of course," he added quickly, "it isn't like we're together. That would be ridiculous." Or would it? "So I think all of your wishes are going to come true. You're well on your way anyway."

He was okay with Bridgett as long as she didn't start talking about her sister's muggle "friend." She didn't discuss muggles so he didn't have to pretend to hate them. He could be quite free with her.

He yawned a bit and sat down on the ground, motioning for her to join him. "Its getting late," he whispered.

"Yes. I suppose you're right. If there wasn't charms, I think the wizarding world would be a lot more boring." Bridgett smiled, "I don't think I would like that." she thought of being bored out of her mind and didn't like the idea. "Magic makes things a lot more fun and interesting."

"I think you're definately right about that. For once my wishes are coming true. Things are starting to get better and I couldn't be happier at the thought of that." She grinned.

She didn't think that she should comment on what Dylan said about Cat. She was starting to think Dylan had mixed feeling about Cat and it would be best if Bridgett didn't stick her nose in things. The two of them needed to figure out things for themselves.

Smiling, she sat down by Dylan. She tried not to sit too close to him as she had a feeling if she did, she would turn redder than ever before. "Yea, it is, but I have to say I'm starting to feel more awake."

He looked over at her and he smiled. "A night owl eh? Well that could be a problem. I turn into a toad at midnight. Its quite an awful thing. I wouldn't want you to see me like that. After all, I'd hate to shatter your image of me. I know you think I'm a dead sexy, uh whats the word? Well I know you think I'm hot," he said in a rather cheesy tone that was filled with exaggeration, "and I'd hate for you to see me turn into a toad."

He looked over at her before leaning his head to the side. "Besides, if I turn into a toad and you're a night owl, you might eat me. That would be bad. I mean I couldn't let you go on with that on your head. People would be like Oh Merlin where is Dylan?! You'd have to sit there saying you didn't know, but you alone would know the awful truth! You alone would know that you actually ate me. See I wouldn't want you living with that."

He was being himself in front of her. He loved to joke around like that. It made him smile to see others react to his strange behavior.

"I don't like toads." Bridgett made a face of disgust. "But, I suppose with you, there could be such thing as a what's the word?" she paused, "A hot toad."

The thought of a toad looking like Dylan made her laugh. With his next joke, she laughed even more. "Don't worry, I'm not the type of person that likes to bite. I can be rude at times, but biting isn't my thing."

"But I suppose if I was an extremley hungry owl and you were a nice juicy toad....I might have to reconsider." she took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. "I don't know, I could cover the whole thing up and just say that you disappeared into thin air. I'm rather good at pretending things never happened."

She loved joking around. She wasn't the best at it, but she loved laughing. Her laugh was rather unique and she couldn't help but love it.

Dylan looked over at her before saying, "Ah I knew it! You're really the type to eat me and pretend nothing ever happened. Well two can play this game."

Then he did it. There was no reason for it other than the fact that he just wanted to see how she would react. Of course he thought she was cute, but despite the fact that he was leading her on, he did not really consider her girlfriend material yet. He leaned over and he kissed her on the lips, but as quickly as he had kissed her, he let go and moved back to his seat.

"Well I guess I'll see you tomorrow," he went on as though nothing had happened. Before she had a chance to respond, he stood up and was out the door and down the stairs.

Bridgett had no idea what would happen next. Before she knew it Dylan kissed her and walked off. She was speechless, but tried to get out a sentence. "Umm...yeah, I'll see you tomorrow."

Once Dylan left, Bridgett sat there for a while. She didn't know what to think. Part of her liked that he kissed her, and part of her didn't. She hated when guys didn't give her warnings at all, she had enough of that already. Either way, she was sure that she wasn't ready for that type of a relationship just yet.

After a while, she headed back to her room with Dylan's jacket still around her. She would have to give it back to him later.
