igmhors: the rules.
registration.
when registering, please register with your characters' first, middle, and
last name, all in lowercase. you know this is something mandatory for
most sites, so it should be common knowledge by now. but if you
happen to sign up incorrectly, please pm nicole on one of her character
accounts whenever you get the chance, and she'll gladly change your
username around for you.
portrayals.
there is only one allowed claim per face, with the exception of twins.
please, to avoid there being a major confusion before or after you're
accepted, check the avatar claim before you register. honestly, it gets
really annoying when someone signs up and doesn't even attempt to
look at the face claim, then signs up with a certain face, despite the fact
that it's taken. annoying, annoying, annoying.
pre-roleplay.
before you can roleplay, you must fill out an application. this will be
used as a means of plot making with other characters, and to be able to
tell whether or not you are worthy to be roleplaying on this site. it's
mandatory on most sites, so again, you should be prepared to fill one of
those out before you even consider the idea of roleplaying on this
board.
claim it!
after acceptance, claim your avatar. i cannot stress this enough. in order
to guarantee that your characters' face will always be your characters'
face, you must claim. if you do not claim, and someone signs up for the
face and it is not claimed, they will get it. so to avoid the heartbreak, just
claim it and save yourself the misery of trying to find another face.
graphics are a must!
another thing to do after acceptance is to get a signature and avatar.
personally, i find it easier to roleplay with a character if i know what they
look like. how else will my character be able to judge them or determine
whether or not they want to be friends? keep the following words in
mind, i mean, come on. we live in the twenty first century, everyone
judges a book by it's cover.. right? signatures can be no larger than
500x300, or no more than two rows of five avatars. avatars are to be no
bigger than 100x100.
post length.
the staff here at igmhors will frequently be going through posts. it is in
your best interest to know that if you do not regularly fill the rule of post
length being at least two paragraphs (or at least a total of twenty
sentences), you will be warned. if you continue to break this rule, you
will be deleted from the site. so if you know before hand that you cannot
post that much, simply do not join. this is an intermediate and literate
roleplay, we do not need beginners here. sorry!
character bans.
as for now, there are no character limits, but if things get absolutely
outrageous, obviously i'm going to put up a ban saying something like
for every girl you have, you must have a guy. but we'll go through with
that when the time comes, deal? just remember to be reasonable with
your characters. you can have as many as you want, just don't make a
five girls and expect the rest of us to make five guys to make up for you.
pirates say "arrr!"
this site is rated r. i mean, come on. this is a rpg based on real life.
anything can happen. there will obviously be some vulgar language,
and probably some bitch fights. anyone who's lived in a city, or even a
regular town, knows that there are always fights or other random r rating
things. but regardless, we would prefer to keep the bad things to a limit.
but if you happen to have a thead that is going over the limit with sex,
drug use, alcohol use, etc, (don't let my world fall down!) please send a
pm to nicole, and she will move it into a protected forum so that
unwanted eyes don't find themselves reading things that aren't
appropriate. but again, please keep it to a minimum, if possible.
disclaimer.
fyi: we do not promote sex before marriage, drug use of any kind, or
alcohol use of minors. but be realistic, every teenager goes through a
phase where they want to be rebellious and do these certain things.
