Emily groaned as she adjusted the books in her arms. It was only the first day of school, but she couldn't help but find herself going mad with all of the books that she'd be given already. One for biology, one for history, two books for english, one book for math, and she hadn't even gotten around to having her elective classes yet. It wasn't that she hadn't expected the load of books, but she hadn't expected to get so many on the first day of school. Had she expected it, she would have brought her bookbag, which was successfully packed and ready to go for the following day.

Pulling the books closer toward her chest, Emily found herself examining the sky, just a second before she felt a drop of water drip onto the tip of her nose. She was barely half way to the building where her next class was, and with the load of books she had, she was hardly excited for the rain to begin.

And then Emily's bad luck took a turn for the worse. Surprise? No way, not for miss clumsy Emily.

Before she had a chance to look back to the path that she was walking on, she found herself flying forward, having tripped over a rather large rock, leaving her face planted on the muddy ground beneath her. Her books were simply covered in mud, as well as most of her body. If it hadn't been for the fact that her face was covered in a pile of mud, courtesy of the rain that had been on and off for the three days prior, she would have said 'screw this,' and just laid there throughout the entire next class.

Pushing herself up with her palms, Emily flopped herself over, sitting herself on her buttox so that she could entirely examine herself.

"Are you kidding me?" Emily found herself saying rather loudly, examining her mudstained leggings and dress. She couldn't possibly show up to her following class like this. And there began the waterworks. She didn't even pretend that they weren't coming, it would have been entirely useless, anyway.

And there she sat, covered in mud, crying with embarrassment. And to think, the day wasn't even over yet.
