Charity sighed before nodding. "I suppose you must be right Henry." She conceded, allowing herself to be moved back across the bush and to her horse. "I must wish you luck then, Miss Rutledge; I know the loss of jewelery often connects with a sentiment." Having just lost her set of diamonds the night before, Charity was still feeling rather melodramatic about the entire issue.

Her countenance changed equally dramatically when Mr. Rutledge changed the subject. "Well, I have been in town just this past week! And already meeting so many new people." At that, she beamed at John. Regardless, of course, of the fact that he was asking Henry the question.

"Actually, my debut is just this coming Sunday, I should think for you both to have received invitations?"

(OOC: Sara, can you post next, then Rose can have Henry move Char and him off to meet Tristan and Helena? Thanks)

((Sure! smile.gif Also - I'm sorry if I've been rather slow lately!!))

John made a twitchy smile of his own. Miss Pritchard's whims and moods seemed to change with the wind and he found himself rather nervous of saying anything at all that she might latch onto and whisk away. So nervous, in fact, that his vocal cords seemed to have become numb. "Yes --" he worked, "London is full of them -- new people, that is, and old people too, I suppose." His smile slightly soured as the quality of his joke dawned on him.

"Congratulations on your debut, Miss Pritchard," Regina said. "I believe we have, indeed. Themed balls are delightful; we are both looking forward to it immensely. What will you be wearing, if I may ask?"

John was not too sure how she deduced that he was looking forward to it immensely, but before Miss Pritchard could enlighten them as to her chosen costume, a call of "JOHN! GINNY!" broke into the conversation. John glanced about. He saw no one recognizable, at least not from this distance -- but as Regina looked across the park she let out a small gasp.

"Oh my -- please excuse us," she said, curtseying to Miss Pritchard and Lord Parry. "I believe I see an old acquaintence of ours. It has been a pleasure to meet you both, and I pray we'll meet again at the ball. "

John, still not quite sure who was yowling at them, hurried after his sister with a tip of his hat to both.
