It's unseasonably hot out, and the rain from last week is all gone. Blue skies and sunshine abound, but it can be difficult to keep one's cool in the face of this heatwave.

Bumbling, obnoxious, and foolish are all words that describe Mr. H-L, eldest son of Viscount Thorton. His one saving grace is that he truly is a well meaning man. Unfortunately, he has a dreadful habit of falling in love with women who are absolutely not interested (exhibit A: Lady Viola Fitzgerald). This habit, coupled with a sporadic white knight complex, has gotten Francis into some sticky situations, including a duel with the Marquess of Emerson.
