Green Eyes - Coldplay

I know a lot of people full out hate Coldplay...but I don't care. I won't pay $200 to see them in concert, but I still like their music. tongue.gif

Maudlin work radio has broken my spirit. I was humming Avril Lavigne to myself on the drive home.

I am listening to a piece called Gulliver in Jerusalem by a group called Daphna Sadeh and the Voyagers.

I am listening to this because I went to a concert last night that my housemate was singing in and Daphna Sadeh was the double bassist and I read her biography in the programme, thought she looked awesome and searched her bands on Spotify. The Voyagers was described as "a contemporary fusion of world music, Middle Eastern and Jewish Music." Her earlier band, Eve's Women, which wasn't on Spotify was described as "an amalgam of jazz, Klezmer and rock."

Conclusion: She is awesome! smile.gif

Bought my first few iTunes, and I feel kind of dirty, but as long as I don't overdo it I should be okay and not rage/regret spending too much money on files that I'm not legally allowed to back up or protect.

Christina Perri's Jar of Hearts is lovely. I'm a sucker for layered harmonies and husky female vocals in a lower range. And I know I shouldn't be so obsessed with past NPC entanglements, but it'd be like a friggin' power-anthem-moment if Rebecca ever ran into Richard Lewis on the street (well, after she snapped out of the catatonic fit and someone invented contemporary pop music.)

No I can't take one more step towards you
Cause all that's waiting is regret
And don't you know I'm not your ghost anymore
You lost the love I loved the most

I learned to live half alive
And now you want me one more time

And who do you think you are
Running around leaving scars
Collecting your jar of hearts
And tearing love apart
You're gonna catch a cold
From the ice inside your soul
So don't come back for me
Who do you think you are

I hear you're asking all around
If I am anywhere to be found
But I have grown too strong
To ever fall back in your arms

I learned to live half alive
And now you want me one more time

And who do you think you are
Running around leaving scars
Collecting your jar of hearts
And tearing love apart
You're gonna catch a cold
From the ice inside your soul
So don't come back for me
Who do you think you are

And it took so long just to feel alright
Remember how to put back the light in my eyes
I wish I had missed the first time that we kissed
Cause you broke all your promises
And now you're back
You don't get to get me back

And who do you think you are
Running around leaving scars
Collecting your jar of hearts
And tearing love apart
You're gonna catch a cold
From the ice inside your soul
Don't come back for me
Don't come back at all

And who do you think you are
Running around leaving scars
Collecting your jar of hearts
And tearing love apart
You're gonna catch a cold
From the ice inside your soul
Don't come back for me
Don't come back at all

Who do you think you are
Who do you think you are
Who do you think you are

Benjamin Britten's wonderful setting of W.H. Auden's Tell me the truth about love. I adore this song.

I've got the sheet music though, so I guess I'll be learning it!
