OOC: This is what OOC looks like at the start of a post. To stop yourself looking like a moron, put OOC at the start or end. Never randomly in the middle of a post.
Here we go...
We begin with a setting. Something to set the story in motion, introduce characters. Then something will happen and the story begins.
***

"Sir, we found this snooping around behind some houses..."
An Angel stood tall, a Guard. In one hand he held a double-ended spear, in the other, a Fallen squirmed. The fully-armoured Angel looked them both over.

"...Fallen activity has grown lately... one does wonder what they are planning... or whether this is a random outburst," the Captain muttered. As Captain of the sector, he was in charge of everything. Guards, security, peacekeeping... and most importantly, keeping the Fallen where they belonged.
It would be so easy to just wipe them all out... but Luther, highest-ranking Angel and ruler of the city, humoured the Fallen. They too, he said, had a right to live. Even if it was in a slum, where the inferior belong. Like rats.

"Break a leg and throw it back into the slums," he ordered, drifting lazily into the skies.
The Guard did as instructed. Both ends of the spear glowing white-hot, a swift twirl and whack shattered the bone in one of the Fallen's legs. A cry of pain, more like a howl. The Guard took flight, gliding low towards the nearest drop-point.
A large hole in the ground, that was it. Impossible to reach from below, because there was no support near it. Only a net below. The Fallen would be allowed to live, but crippled. A painful reminder that the Above, Kirako, belonged to the Angels.

***

A loud screaming noise woke up most of the district, it seemed. Another one had been caught, no doubt. Most drifted back to sleep. The 45 metre fall couldn't kill, but if the net wasn't there... well, you'd need a hell of a cleanup crew. Not that the Fallen ever got such luxuries, unless they did it voluntarily themselves.

Danny stayed awake a few moments, wondering what exactly had possessed another Fallen to go up there. Some never returned... the ones that did all came bac kthe same - a broken limb or two, screaming on their way down. It was a shame, really... always the bold few decided to go up there, always returned broken.
He rolled over and went back to sleep, ignoring the cries of pain from outside. There was nothing he could do about it. A Healer would come along sometime, fix it.

The wind-up, battered clock read that it was about 3:30am. Only three and a half hours until the Fallen rose from darkness, into darkness. Living dull lives to try and feed themselves. Almost a waste of time, it seemed.

((occ: Sweet! Okay, who am I...Ahah))

Audra lifted her nose and sniffed the air. 'Blood' She thought, 'But so soon? Why?....' Shadow and Silver nuzzled her to remind her of her current form, a direwolf. All three of them had been out stealing their meals. Ven, her falcon, was scouting for them and had yet to return.

Lei rushed to the net, following the soudn of continues yelps of pain. the man was obviously trying to leave the ent, but kept bringing himself more misery

as he got to the ent, Lei summoned his powers by muttering a small incantation. a skmall green platform, jsut large enough for him to stand on, appeared beneath his feet. the platform, which seemed to be made out of light and air, lifted him up to the net. he jumped of the platofrm, which imediatly disappeared, and glided to the man. he floated inches above the man's quivering form. bending down, he touched the man's broken elg and muttered a spell. it instantly glowed and seemed to snap back in place.
the man screamed one final time, and blinked as he realzied the painw as gone. he started bowing to Lei, thanking him

Lei sneered, though not harshly, and it was barely visible behidn the green mask. "i'm not gonna help you down, so forget it." Lei said firmly, and jumped off the net.

One thing air elementals were gifted with was the ability to jump high and far. jumping from heights such as 45 metres had become no problem for Lei, who'd been training msot of his life. however, his powers were still weak, and he would need to continue training if he hoped to get his revenge.

As he walked back to his house, Lei got the feeling he was being watched. he turned and found a rather odd creature looking at him. it was a dakr grey cat, with balck leathery wings. he smiled as he ug into his pokce.t he opened a plastic bag and gave the cat a piece of bacon.

the cat seemed to bow in gratitude, took the bacon,a nd flew off.

as he turned and walked, Lei realised that was the first time he'd smiled in weeks...

OCC: I'm curious, is there futurist technology that the angels only seem to have?

Cronak's eyes turned a crimson red as he looked for angels flying through the air. The heat vision eyes scanned for the night shift angels. This was probably the time when they were the weakest. Cronak spotted a few of them but most weren't really doing their job. Instead they were fooling around, like always.

But then security has been beefed up after more of the attacks of Fallen. He smiled showing a sharp set of teeth. At this rate, he would be able to get in.

His eyes turned a lightish green as he switched to night vision eyes. He crawled on all fours searching for food. Here in the slums, anything was food. Rats, fallen, even angels. Angels were probably the best, although very rare.

A giant rat crawled out of a flithy trashcan and look around, deciding the skinny Fallen wouldn't be able to see him in the darkness. A long sharp tooth came down, crushing the rat's skull. It moved around for a moment, refusing to die. Before it was completely dead he picked up the tooth and used it like a tooth pick, eating the rat.

Rat on a tooth. Absolutely delicious, better when alive.

OOC: Yeah, I suppose they would. In fact, no, they do. {just remembered something}
In a little bit I'll introduce something... very advanced. (happy.gif)
***

The dark sky above slowly lightened to blue, with pink and orange streaks of sunlight. Steadily, it grew brighter, allowing golden sunbeams to filter through the tall spires of Kirako, bringing daylight to the world.

...not that it could be seen Below.
The slums, as ever, were in almost complete darkness, the only light being dim electrical lights from an age gone past. Some Fallen still worked to keep them going, to save the rest from eternal darkness.

Danny pulled on his battered jacket and left. Like most others, he too did whatever he could to help out in the slums. Older Fallen needed care, cleaning and repairs needed to be carried out. Even with a limited supply of old and rusted tools, the Fallen did quite well for themselves. Life, though, was still poor and dull.

This morning, if you could call it that, was his turn to help with repairs in the area. Damaged buildings from fights over food, things crumbling from decay...

He turned a corner to see a large section of wall missing from a house. A cheap thing, made of old metal held together with dried mud. A dirty job, but that didn't matter. He was used to getting his hands dirty.

Audra Shifted back into a human form and dressed in an alley with the wolves standing as guard. They had gotten enough for two days and that was very good. Suddenly, as she stepped out, something crashed against her chest and clawed her. Having just Shifted, it was hard to control her inner animal that wanted to escape. Preocupied, she wasn't able to control the scream that burst from her mouth. The shadowy slawing form ran off and Shadow started chasing it. Silver, after glancing at Audra, howled a long high note and walked over to assist the bleeding shapeshifter on the ground. Audra stood up suddenly in agonizing pain and flung herself across the adult direwolf's broad back. Silver started a fast walk back to their current hideout. Shadow was no where to be seen and Ven was preocupied with...something...

"need some help?" asked a voice from directly behind danny. danny turned, surprised to find a young man, maybe a bit younger than he, with blond hair and green clothes. the man had a dark green mask over his motuh, but his eyes seemed kind, if mysterious.

danny stared the man up and down and then nodded wordlessly, turning back to his project. the young man helped pack mud into soem spots, and when danny stopped a few hours later, the young man looked puzzled

"why ya stoppin?" he asked danny

"i need soemhting to stand on to get to that corner" he indicated a corner a few feet above his head.

the young man jsut stared at him briefly, then jumped up to the corner... and floated in mid-air. his eyes glowed dimly as he floated, packing the mud into the corner to amke the wall stay,.

when he finished, he dropped down, groaning from the strain of using his pwoers.

danny smiled oddly. 'Nice.... name's danny.." he said, extending his hand

the young amn stared at the extended hand for a brief moment before turnign and walking away. after walking a few feet, he paused and looked over his shoulder. "Lei..." he said quietly.

OCC: Thanks for answering my question sputin.

And I didn't know the slums were in 24 hours of darkness... do they still get moonlight or no?

Art: You forgot a rule of RPing, you can't control another's character without their permission. =P

Cronak was doing his usual "walk" when he noticed two figures standing next to the fallen wall where there had been a big fight over a dead angel's body. It was a pity Cronak had not been there. But then he would of been mauled by the fallen who had the ability to had spikes come out of it's body. A bloody battle had taken place, leaving alot for the vultures.

His eye turned greenish as he examined the two more. It seemed they were fallen, the "good" type. Some of the fallen liked to help out others. It was foolish to help those you can't trust. Fallen, angel, neither could be trusted. That was Cronak's philosophy.

He considered a moment wondering if he could use these two to his advantage. It was possible. There was an easy way to lure them into believe him, but giving himself a false impression.

Cronak suddenly fell down on the ground with a heavy thump. His right hand reached out, as if grabbing for something. In his mind he smiled, the "good" fallens would be with him in a moment if they heard him. He was pretty sure he made a loud enough noise.

Audra forced her now agonizingly heavy body off the broad back of the direwolf and landed on the ground with no grace at all. She rolled onto her back and closed her eyes against the hard sandpaper tongue running across her face. "I..'m fine." She croaked shielding her face with arms that felt 20 pounds heavier than usual. Audra somehow managed to sit up with some help. "Leave!" She whispered to the direwolf. "Find Shadow and..." Audra paused to brace herself against a new wave of agonizing pain from her arms. "Just go. Leave. Hide, my friend. GO!" Silver backed away at the shout that bursted from Audra's lips and turned around. She ran long and fast, but to where?

A quiet sigh emerged from pale lips and stained the cold night with it's fog. Dark eyelashes hovered near each other for a moment and met. Somewhere out on the dark streets, a blood soaked figure toppled over and lapsed into darkness.

OOC: Yeah, what the shadowy one said. tongue.gif That, and Danny has TK. He dunt need things to stand on. {nodsnods}
...not that I really mind.
And nope, no moonlight either.
***

A loud thud distracted Danny from this new companion. He looked to see a figure collapsed on the ground, one arm outstretched.
In seconds he was over there, kneeling beside the collapsed Fallen, checking for pulse. It seemed normal... strange.
He rolled the figure over onto his back, and poked in the stomach, reasonably hard, watching for the slightest twitch.

The guy knew what he was doing. Taken by surprise by the poke Cronak instanly switched to "insane" mode. His eyes turned a bloodshot red and he twictched crazily (sp?).

"FOOD!" He shouted his hands clawing at the air as if he had gone mad. He rolled over and looked at the figure. He grabbed with his spiny hands and shook the fallen.

"FOOD!" His eyes rolled all over the place and started changing multiple colors. There was a dim battered street light, he hopped the fallen would be able to see Cronak's eyes and be convinced he had gone mad or been taken by some diease.

ooc: so sorry... my bad...
**

Beyo paused and turned to notice this strange behaviour by the seemingly hurt Fallen. he sneered slightly, though the sneer was not visible because of his green mask. after a moment of watching the creature's odd ranting and flailing, beyo approached the two.

diggin in to his pocket, he pulld out a piece of bacon and through it on the oddd creature.
