Title: MGS

PeaFro - March 24, 2008 07:21 PM (GMT)
I've never played one. I've heard amazing things about them. I watched one of my friends play MGS3, for around 5 minutes... looked enjoyable.

Is it worth my time and money to buy them and play them?

Fill this topic with your praises and comments of Metal Gear Solid, for my sake.

I played and beat the first one and it is one of the best PS1 games, no exceptions. In my opinion, the games are more story-driven (and it is done perfectly), but the gameplay is still very good. However, the controls can take some getting used to.

I've played MGS2 and MGS3, but I have yet to beat them (I put them down to play other games, and I just never went back) so I can't really say many things about them. I'll beat them before MGS4 is out.

MGS4, based on the 15+ minute gameplay video, is looking to be the best game on the PS3.

I have beaten MGS, MGS2, and MGS3. I really liked the control and the camo stuff in 3 (using the camo to it's fullest I went on a no kill...stamina kills on bosses...never spotted game). From what I have seen MGS4 is high on my list of games once I get a PS3.

But I don't plan on getting a PS3... >_>

Then you better because Blu-Ray won the format wars.

I beat MGS1 and MGS2 thanks to the MGS EC ($30 for all 3 games, it's a bargain) and I really enjoyed them. I'm playing MGS3 right now, and it's decent so far. I think I just need to get more into it.

Lol.

Blu-Ray winning means jack shit as far as which console is better (360 doesn't have HD-DVD, and may get a Blu-Ray add on). You don't buy a console for the movie playback capability (well, the Japanese bought the PS2 for the DVD player, but I'm talking about 'merica here)

Compare which system has better games and features for you.

Overall, the 360 has more good games, but the PS3 has slightly better (but harder to program for) hardware and a few more features (like Blu-Ray).

360 has vastly superior online, but PS3 has it for free.

It goes on.

However, I can tell you I know about 8 or 9 people IRL with XBL. Who has PSN? Uh, no one.

This is true. Well, I have one, but I don't know anyone else with one.

Oh, and I finally beat MGS2 the other day, and I'm a good ways in to MGS3. I'll get MGS4 by the end of the month.

yes you should play the entire MGS its a very interseting storyline with lots of plotholes and twist
