general history:
Mignon was born in Beaumont, France, the youngest of the four Olivier children. She grew up in a small French villa in the beautiful countryside. Mignon had it made. She would wake up to a beautiful view of France and a cool breeze always coming through her window. She went to a prestigious elementary school for girls and was top in her classes. Her early education years were full of laughs for her; she was always the class-clown, wanting to become a comedian. She was intelligent and caring, and semi-popular. She studied French and English literature at the university of London Institute in Paris.

Mignon always looked up to her parents and older siblings because they were so successful. She had never known what she wanted to do with her life. She always felt that she was over-shadowed by her family’s accomplishments and she would never be as thriving as them. She decided to leave France and travel a bit, try to find herself. She ended up in Wales where she met Matthew Laurent, a struggling writer who wound up in Wales for the same reason Mignon did. The two fell in love instantly. Matthew proposed to Mignon the same year of meeting her, when they were both only twenty-three. Four years later, Mignon gave birth to twin boys Brice and Raymond. The family of four moved back to Mignon’s hometown in Beaumont to be with her family. And for the first time in her life, Mignon felt like had something to show for it.

Sadly, this was not the time for Mignon’s happy ending. Matthew had a history of brain cancer and deaths from said cancer. The doctors found several tumors in his brain and he didn’t have much time left. Later that year, he died, leaving Mignon at 29 with two three-year-old boys and heartbroken. Mignon led her days depressed and becoming completely lonely. Her family was there to take care of her and the boys, but she needed more. She packed up and traveled to Crawley, England, which seemed far enough away from both Wales and France and her depressing past.

She settled in Crawley and fit in pretty well. She found a school for her sons to go to, and found St. Tristan’s; a school at which she now taught French. It was the perfect job for her being French and having lived in France for all her life. She was the best they ever had. She was happy with her current life. But every day she thought about Matthew and how much she missed him and wished he was there with her. She was still deeply in love with him. She knew she would have to move on after a while, but it would take something or someone great to help her do so.
