So I know that rules aren't fun to read, but all RPG's have to have them! So please read them thoroughly and have a good look around South Bend before joining with any characters.

General
- Respect all members of South Bend. End of story.
- Please listen to all admins/mods. If they tell you to do something, it's for good reason.
- This site does not allow any sexual content, drugs, alcohol, etc. Please do not bring mature content here, it is not welcome.
- No discrimination on any level (racial, etc.) will be permitted. If violated, the member will be immediately banned.
- There is no maximum # of characters that you can create, but only register the amount you are willing to keep active.
- If you will be inactive for more than a week, please make a post on the Away forum, in OOC.

Joining
- You must create a NEW account for EACH character that you create!
- This includes both HORSES and HUMANS.
- DOMESTIC horses will NOT be their own character. Only WILD horses will require an account. (You can only join as a wild horse OR a human).
- When joining a human, please use correct capitalization. Also, a FULL name is required (first & last). Ex: "Sue" IS NOT acceptable. "Sue Smith" IS acceptable.
- Again, please don't register more accounts than you can handle!
- When joining a wild horse, please use correct capitalization in the name as well, but obviously a full name is not required.
- Once you have completed your joining form, you MUST wait to be accepted before making any in character posts. You may, however, post on the OOC board/chatbox.

Posting
- All posts must be a MINIMUM of 150 words. It really isn't difficult to come up with 150 words per post. I understand if you've lost muse for a few days/don't have time, but overall you need to be able to post the minimum 150. (:
- Please try to use correct spelling/capitalization/grammar. No chatspeak..."lol" "rofl"...chatspeak is only permitted in OOC.
- Horses are allowed to talk to horses & humans to humans, but horses cannot talk to humans/vise versa.

Humans
- Only human characters of age 18+ can join.
- Once accepted, all humans must first find a place to live AND a job.
- All humans begin with $50,000.
- Humans can only join with ONE domestic horse.
- Domestic pets (currently - may be subject to change) are not allowed in South Bend.
- Human money must be updated by each character's account in the Bank forum.
- Characters can either rent a South Bend Apartment OR purchase a farm, which will cost a lot more, but then they will be able to have more horses.
- Each farm will have it's own mini-forum within the Farms forum.
- Jobs can be found in the Town Square job postings.
- Now, for the good part!...
...if your character LIVES IN AN APARTMENT: they MUST board their horse at a farm. Owners of the farm can set boarding fees as they would like. New characters start out with one horse, and from then on they must either capture a wild horse or buy horses from the town square sales. They can however, create one domestic horse per real life month. These characters can own up to 10 horses, 5 of which can be wild.
...if your character LIVES ON A FARM: they can own as many horses as their farm can hold. They can also set boarding fees for boarders who live in an apartment. They can create domestic horses whenever they please, purchase horses from the town sales, OR capture horses.
- As said earlier, if a human owns a domestic horse, then they post about their domestic horses themselves. However, wild horses owned by humans are played by OTHER MEMBERS and may NOT, under any circumstances, be power played by the human. Same goes for the wild horses power playing the humans. (Ex.: Sue was riding her (wild horse), Thunder, and Thunder reared) NOT GOOD. If Thunder was a domestic horse, that would be fine.
- Humans may attempt to capture as many wild horses as they like, but there is absolutely NO POWER PLAYING! A human cannot simply gallop up on their domestic horse, lasso the wild horse, and take them back to the ranch. Most of the time, the wild horse will be putting up a great deal of a fight (despite some occasions). (see capturing section)
- Humans will go to the Capture Lands if they would like to try to attempt to catch a horse. Horses may wander into the Capture Lands as they please.

Horses
- Once accepted, MARES must go to the Mare Grounds. There, they will wait to be invited to a herd by a stallion, which they may decline/accept the offer.
- Mares CAN be force claimed.
- Once accepted, STALLIONS can either go to the Lone Stallion Grounds, OR they may claim a land (if available). Some stallions may choose to have a second in command/beta stallion in their herd, and can invite stallions at the grounds.
- Force breeding IS allowed.
- Absolutely NO graphic/long breeding. Simply post the stats of the two horses.
- Breeding is ONLY allowed in the spring & summer.
- Twins are RARE but they DO OCCUR from time to time.
- Once an admin or mod posts the stats of the foal in a reply at the Breeding Grounds, the stallion & mare player can decide who will be playing the foal. It's completely up to them to decide.
- Stallions are the only horses who can claim lands, mares cannot. The lead stallion can create his own rules for his herd however he pleases, and can choose rankings as he pleases as well. However, all South Bend rules still apply in each herd.
- As said before, horses can go to the Capture Lands in order to see the humans. Though it is most likely that most have no desire of being captured, be as creative as you like! (see capturing section)
- Battling for territories/mares is allowed. But absolutely NO power playing, and battles must only take place at the Battle Grounds.

Capturing
- Although the Capture Lands is the primary place for humans & equines to come face to face, equines may also wander into farms at their own risk.
- Humans may also enter herds whilst riding on their domestic horses, which puts the wild horses at an even greater risk of being captured. However, some territories are safer than others for the wild horses.
- Domestic horses owned by a character cannot become wild, UNLESS you PM Keeva and ask permission. In doing so you will need to create a new account for your domestic horse turned wild and also post a joining application for them.
- Horses that are captured from the wild will also need to be boarded at a farm.
- Horse characters can choose to put up as great/little of a fight as they want during an attempted capture. But NO power playing for either horse or human. Generally, the player of the horse will either allow the horse to be captured or be sure that they don't get captured, but you can do so without totally overpowering the human character.
- Wild horses may try to escape once captured, but it may be difficult if the humans are experienced with horses.

Seasons/Time
- Seasons change every MONTH. This is because we want to keep the RPG moving.
- Breeding may only take place during the summer/spring.

Pictures
- South Bend is not responsible for you taking any copyrighted images.
- Signatures are strongly encouraged, but must NOT exceed 500 x 300.
- Avatars are also strongly encouraged, but most NOT exceed 200 x 200.
- Humans must make sure to post in the Face Claim forum if they plan on using a signature/avatar.

Rules are subject to change, so please check back often! (:
