Jules was sick of law. She'd been revising for tomorrows test for hurs now, and she could feel her eyes drooping and all her willpower steadily draining away. Sighing, she slammed the huge tome she was reading shut, pulling it under her arm, reached out to click her nternet off and scraped her chair back, the screech it made across the floor almost unbearable. It made her skin crawl, like nails on a blackboard, only worse. She shuddered, her nose wrinkling in distaste, and started making her way over to get some coffee.

There was a group of giggling freshmen over by the counter, discussing some trivial bit of gossip or supposed drama. Life must be so exciting as a freshman, she thought scathingly, Little brats. Just wait, then you'll know the meaning of hard work...
Luckily, they were easily scattered with a hard glare and flick of the eyebrows. The younger ones' attitudes were getting better at least. Some respect.

She lounged against the counter, slamming the book on the top and resting her elbows on it, leaning right over and waiting for someone to serve her. The hustle and bustle of the cafe was pounding away in her ears, heralding the start of a killer headache. It was not, suffice to say, the best mood she'd been in all week. And it was possibly getting worse by the minute.

Geez, my muse has completely died...

It was another busy night at the internet cafe. He didn't enjoy working there, no - but there was no other way to earn money around here. He started when he was a freshman, and he's been working here since. He stands around, wipes off the counter and the tables and pouring coffee to studying students. It wasn't the greatest job in the world, but it paid. And he needed the cash.

Jack dusted off his hands on the apron that tied around his waist, and then silently poured himself a cup of coffee as he watched his two other coworkers help out the crowd of freshmen at the counter. He smirked, and took a sip before he noticed a girl slam a book onto the counter, seemingly scaring off the freshmen. Raising a brow and brushing his dark hair out of his eyes, he placed his cup of coffee behind the counter and grabbed the damp hand towel before heading over to where the girl sat. Wiping off the counter nonchalantly, he gave a friendly smile to the girl who looked like she's had better days.

"Bad day?" He asked softly, wiping down the counter as he spoke. He's had this conversation with several students over the last couple of years. Mostly law and engineering students, for some reason, but the artsy types were always ones for their coffee, so he got to hear alot of different stories over the years. He may as well be getting paid to pour coffee and to give advice.

[Mines not much better... lol.]
