I am researching this man as he was married to my grandma's sister and I only discovered their existance recently. He entered France on 20th December 1915 and died at Chalk Pit Wood on 29th April 1916. He is commemorated on the Loos Memorial. I have had help from the Great War forum about how and where he died which is likely to have been in a gas attack.

I would like to know what he would have been doing between his entry into France and his death. Where were they stationed, what other areas of France did they fight in for example.

I have just returned from France on a visit to family and we were able to stop off at the Loos Memorial and to leave a poppy for him.

Regards
Judy

PS; O'Frill is probably a corruption of O' Friel but that it how he spelled it on his wedding certificate and the 1911 census forms.
