My great grandfather, Walter Stockton and his brother Frederick Stockton were both born in barracks at Naas in the 1870s, they both went on to join the Royal Dublin Fusiliers. Their father, Edward Stockton was a corporal in the 103rd in 1871. He was stationed in Parkhurst barracks, Isle of Wight. I assume that when the 103rd was amalgamated into the Royal Dublin fusiliers he then went to Naas.
Apparently, he then went on to manage the canteen at Naas. Any ideas where can I get any more information? |
