Well, everyone, I have an announcement to make. A poem I submitted to poetry.com about a year ago, and forgot about, and thought was lost, has now been chosen to appear in a coffe-table anthology of poems by new and talented poets! I was barely able to stay in my seat when I found this in my email, and I am still quite surprised. The book is available at poetry.com, if any would like to check it out. In any case, I have pasted the poem here for all to read!
Circles made and circles passed, Each one going faster than fast. Over and over you go around, But what you're searching for is never found. So dark, so dark, so dark and lonely, Not knowing, ever, from what you flee. Do you know if you are coming or going? Or if your footsteps are speeding or slowing? Will the darkness ever leave? Or is it all you will ever percieve? Wait, its rising, far away light appears, The foggy darkness running from what it fears. The world gets brighter, and brighter, until its quite bright, And sitting atop all the clouds, oh so white, Is a gate made of silver, a grand entrance indeed, And right inside, everything you'd ever need. Slowly you step forward, into the place, Suddenly your happy, a smile on your face. This must be heaven you think, and you know its true, This is the only place where you can be you.
