Title: Bring back Omnimaga 2?
Alex - April 12, 2006 01:40 PM (GMT)
Seriously, there are 10000 sites "Calc-whatever", Omnimaga was original and had that going for it. My suggestion is that you go back to the Omnimaga account, and re-open a board there.

Well unfortunately reopening Omnimaga would involve reposting all the old RPG archives again on the new website, like on the old one. Which was a pain. Same goes for the news.
Plus since the old board has been deleted we still lose all posts anyway, so if Omnimaga was to reopen it would be on this forum.
If we do this I will need lot of help on getting the RPG archives back and the news articles. Every news items are avaliable either on TI news or the old Omnimaga website. As for staff archives I will link to ticalc.org files instead so its easier to manage.
I will start a poll I think
EDIT Poll added. Btw the Invisionfree version of Omnimaga was Omnimaga 2, the version 1.x of it is still here:
http://omnimaga.unitedti.org/index_v3.html also if I revive Omnimaga I might as well make a version 3 of it instead, since we are kinda restarting from scratch, so maybe I could add new stuff and section to the website. I always wanted to make a Calculator FPS headquarter, I just never got enough time to do it and back then there was like 4 FPS for calcs

Suggestion: don't bother with old news posts, and make the archives focused around Omnimaga's projects (members' projects). This board seems just too cold, Omnimaga had a soul behind it.

Well it isnt Omnimaga anymore if the rpgs arent here...
As for the news I could just repost all news from the ti news conglo in one single post and put it as News archives, that would be as easy
I feel very sad for deleting all staff work, especially managers who brang back the archives online after the move to invisionfree, I wish this didnt happened, but oh well it doesnt mean we cant rebuild

Then we can all work together to bring them back. They're archived on the old Omnimaga static web site, so they're organized ready to post. I volunteer for the TI-89 and TI-86 sections.

http://omnimaga.unitedti.org/archive_v3.html Should we use the same archive format than on the old site?
I think I'll be in charge of the news.
Alex - April 12, 2006 07:09 PM (GMT)
The poll spoke, go register Omnimaga V3! :)
- Alex
xlibman - April 12, 2006 07:20 PM (GMT)
well I just need to rename this forum to s9.invisionfree.com/Omnimaga and make the omnimaga.dyndns.org domain primary again, put back the old skin and make a new banner asap, I am wondering if someone was willing to make a banner for Omni v3 , actually it would have the exact same Omnimaga logo on dark bg but the slogan would be "Coders of Tomorrow"
I added a temp banner now :P

I feel insulted... :(Anyways...
I'll do the banner, and I'll even make you a better background image!
Alex - April 12, 2006 09:42 PM (GMT)
Well, so do ticalc.org and calc.org ;)
Nice job Kevin, it's getting there!
- Alex
xlibman - April 12, 2006 09:58 PM (GMT)
Cool Jc I cant wait to see what you come up with :)
DO NOT INSULT JC WEBSITE ARTI!!!111!!1!!111 j/k :D
Jc - April 12, 2006 10:11 PM (GMT)
Okay, "calc.org" is just... unoriginal.

Tis the new logo. The right side is open for editing, so if projects come up, we can put screenshots on it. :)
xlibman - April 12, 2006 10:16 PM (GMT)
^^
Very awesome work Jc, I admire your art skills, you made it in less than 30 mins O.o
*xlibman points to board header
as for calc.org I prefered Dimension-TI to it
Jc - April 12, 2006 11:34 PM (GMT)
Why thanketh you... I'm sure my friends would make fun of it, but they're like that. <_<
xlibman - April 13, 2006 12:13 AM (GMT)
ppl are stupid sometimes :P dont listen to them
Alex - April 13, 2006 12:37 AM (GMT)
It's quite good, the only thing I'd work on is the calc image and slogan, they look a bit out of place as they are now. The logo and background work very well.
- Alex
xlibman - April 13, 2006 12:43 AM (GMT)
well it look kinda fine imo, maybe we could make the calc image a lil more transparent or lighter, right now it has a dark border. To the right there will be our project screenshots
katmaster - April 13, 2006 04:29 AM (GMT)
Yepper, looks awesome to me.

Well, they're also much better artists than I am, but I write better than they do, so I don't really worry about it. :)
xlibman - April 14, 2006 01:15 AM (GMT)
I edited your bg image a bit so we dont see the grid much now ;)
g28401 - April 16, 2006 02:54 AM (GMT)
I actually like Omnimaga v3 (You can shoot me later) because it actually gives me a chance for post counts XD
xlibman - April 16, 2006 12:13 PM (GMT)
*xlibman shoots g28401
well at the current rate I think it will be hard to meet the_unknown_one and my post counts XD
*xlibman thinks about getting a faster connection to post as much as Kerm on cemetech (he has 13000 posts there)
tenniskid493 - April 16, 2006 01:31 PM (GMT)
Dude..someone voted no. I wish there was a way to see who voted.
Don't worry, I'll meet it. I just have to find a forum in the non-spam forum that I can spam.
xlibman - April 16, 2006 01:35 PM (GMT)
lol I noticed, the poll was over for a long while though
