Title: The Christmas Layout

Netham45 - November 26, 2007 01:40 AM (GMT)
I love it and all(espically the green background. ^.^ ) but the red bar seperating 2 posts in a thread seems to stick out. Just my $.02. :)

Delnar_Ersike - November 26, 2007 01:43 AM (GMT)
Also, the blue dots next to the subforums stick out, so maybe the color should be changed for those dots as well. ;)

TheStorm - November 26, 2007 01:47 AM (GMT)
I like it, it is very festive. I am already Listening to x-mas music thanks to the fact that my dad finally gotten a new sound card (he fried his built in). :haha: Which lso means I can now Play Frets on Fire at his house.

art_of_camelot - November 26, 2007 01:54 AM (GMT)
AHHHHHHHHH !!!! RED AND GREEN!!!!! It really makes all the blue thats left over (text and bullets beside forum titles) look out of place IMHO.

DJ Omnimaga - November 26, 2007 02:20 AM (GMT)
http://omnimaga.org/index.php?showtopic=913 :-P

This is the same theme than last year

but yeah I've done it in about 20 minutes if I remember. And art_of_camelot thanks for reminding me. I was supposed last year to edit the blue text to make it red-ish and replaces the icons, but I totally forgot x.x

Idk if I will have time to replace the icons tho  there's full of stuff to edit in the admin CP section to do so x.x

Super Speler - November 26, 2007 02:49 AM (GMT)
Where's the Chanukah skin :P.

AaroneusTheGreat - November 26, 2007 03:07 AM (GMT)
Good question, but what colors would that be?

And the red and green thing will be all right if most of the people here are red-green color blind %)

Also, it'd be neat to have a Kwanza, Ramadan, Summer Solstice, Haloween (you probably already have it, but I don't remember seeing it.), and some other holiday themes.

DJ Omnimaga - November 26, 2007 04:17 AM (GMT)
i only have xmas so far, i didnt did any themes afterward because Invisionfree announced zetaboards so all themes would no longer be compatible. That said zetaboards is still not released x.x

grendel - November 26, 2007 06:05 AM (GMT)
At first I was like, "Hmm. New alien-like theme?" but then I noticed the Christmas wreath.

I think the patterns -- not necessarily the colors -- are kind of a non-festive throw off. :P

nitacku - November 26, 2007 08:10 AM (GMT)
Wow. I'm gone for a few days and look what happens :P

Actually, I kinda like the new layout. It's a nice change.
However, the wreath thing looks like a mound of flowers that got chopped up in a blender :D

Liazon - November 26, 2007 10:26 PM (GMT)
well, it's a nice skin to have again :)

Xphoenix - November 27, 2007 02:02 AM (GMT)
Nice skin. I like it better than the normal one. :P But like other people said, the actual posts stick out.

art_of_camelot - November 27, 2007 04:10 PM (GMT)
@DJOmnimaga; The blue text isn't really THAT big of a deal. I thinks the change of scenery for the holidays is really nice :).

i think it's partly because the borders are still black.

DJ Omnimaga - November 28, 2007 03:54 AM (GMT)
This skin has only one month left to live

If they finish implementing the conversion code before Christmas end you may never see the other skin again either.

kalan_vod - November 28, 2007 04:14 AM (GMT)
Idk, I am loving this theme (blue is my favorite though ;) ).

:( that's too bad. i liked these skins

TheStorm - November 29, 2007 12:49 PM (GMT)
well You could always work on recreating the skins for zetaboards.

rivereye - November 29, 2007 03:39 PM (GMT)
Zetaboards is done for people who want a site to start from scratch with. If you want to upgrade InvisionFree, there is still a bit of a wait for it.

DJ Omnimaga - November 30, 2007 12:16 AM (GMT)
yea it's alerady out, I may try to mess around with it if they take a while to post the conversion script/system so we don't have to wait months before getting a new omnimaga skin

Liazon - November 30, 2007 01:28 AM (GMT)
maybe we should have a skin designing contest ^^

DJ Omnimaga - November 30, 2007 02:11 AM (GMT)
well if a new skin is done i would rather see it built by myself or one of the staff, not someone outside, because then it wouldn't be omnimaga anymore

Liazon - December 1, 2007 10:00 PM (GMT)
well, that's what I mean. kinda like the PA contests.

DJ Omnimaga - December 1, 2007 11:10 PM (GMT)
ok. Hopefully i can make it through with not much hassle tho. THe only problem is that even if I upgrade to zetaboards I wont be able to use multiple skins because the forum is separated in two database so in some section of the site you'll still see the default skin

MSR5 - December 2, 2007 01:25 AM (GMT)
The sooner the change of the skin the better. No offence or anything but it is horrible
P.S
it is offensive to atheists such as myself

DJ Omnimaga - December 2, 2007 01:37 AM (GMT)
I am atheist myself, and am not offended by the skin. You are the first one to ever find this skin offensive for such reason. Lot of ppl here has strong belief against religion (like necro) and they didn't complained about the skin. We used this skin for 2 years in a row. Only complains I got is how the blue icons and text standed out and how the banner wasn't too great. Lot of other forums use different skins and post news wishing merry christmas/anything else. Even Invisionfree, who has 2 millions posts and 100000 members did it, and nobody complained for religious reasons.

And for the record, you should have read those before joining the forums:

Ditto. I don't understand why this would offend anyone.

On another note, was it really necessary to bring religion into this discussion? It's really of no concern who believes what, or why. We all like the layout regardless. :)

MSR5 - December 2, 2007 01:46 AM (GMT)
sorry about not reading the bord rules :paf:
i'll avoid this problem in the current pressant and the future
P.S should i edit all of my "controversal" posts

grendel - December 2, 2007 01:55 AM (GMT)
It's not controversial -- it's just that we're more of a workplace, in a sense. It's probably better to avoid personal subjects that you know are going to invokve an opionated discussion, as it makes it difficult to maintain a professional work ethic. Especially since it's just a layout we're talking about. :P

MSR5 - December 2, 2007 02:01 AM (GMT)
 DJ Omnimaga (god) don't banish me from the site i beg it
(sarcasm)

DJ Omnimaga - December 2, 2007 02:02 AM (GMT)
and on top of that i know atheists who celebrate christmas here. They just don't go to church at midnight since for them christmas is more for partying, hangning out with family and gift exchange. That said we're just pointing out that we are not trying to offend anyone in any mean (except if easter occurs right after april fools day many ppl may get seizures here)

MSR5 - December 2, 2007 02:08 AM (GMT)
i formaly apologize for all those that took offence at my posting

grendel - December 2, 2007 02:09 AM (GMT)
Apparently, major holidays are a scary time to be a part of the Omnimaga community. I would hate to imagine what's in store for Leap Year. :P

MSR5 - December 2, 2007 02:18 AM (GMT)
leap year!??!!?!
NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :knight:

DJ Omnimaga - December 2, 2007 02:26 AM (GMT)
oh yeah i almost forgot next year was one. And apology accepted providing you promise me you will try to not be negative toward others anywhere else as well

MSR5 - December 2, 2007 02:27 AM (GMT)
that will be hard, but it is possible

DJ Omnimaga - December 2, 2007 02:33 AM (GMT)
just try the best you can. We wouldn't like Omnimaga to turn into a site where people are afraid of signing up because they will get flamed by users. In fact this forum was built originally because back then there was no other place where you didn't risked of getting flamed.

MSR5 - December 2, 2007 08:00 PM (GMT)
i understand your point
P.S DJ Omnimaga, is your first language french?

DJ Omnimaga - December 2, 2007 09:55 PM (GMT)
My first language is TI-BASIC

j/k it's french
