Dawnstar looked around trying to pick out the cats that she had spoken to earlier. Three cats that she found suitable for becoming mentors. Actually, she hadn't told any of them much beyond that she wanted to have them mentor "a cat." She let out a huff, and leapt onto the rock she had stood on earlier which jutted upwards near the center of camp.

"All cats old enough to catch their own prey," she started, seeing three cats make their way out of her den, "please gather around for a clan meeting!" the leader mewed loudly.

Maxis hopped around after his brother, casting glances at Pumpkin as they made their way to the side of the rock.

"Today is a day that will prove a stepping stone in WaveClan's history," she mewed, "today, I will be apprenticing three cats not of this clan, or any. They have decided to join our clan and live by the warrior code. I respect this, and their decisions. Though not blood of our clan, I hope you all respect their choice to join our clan, and accept them, as well as StarClan may. Though not blood-born, we should not stop their rights to join us."

Max's whiskers twitched with anticipation.

"Sora," she mewed, "as clan leader, I ask StarClan to cast away your name and life as a kittypet. From now on until you gain your warrior name, you will be known as Snowpaw."

Dawnstar shifted, looking around, "Cloudfeather!" she mewed loudly, "you are ready for an apprentice, and will be Snowpaw's mentor. I know you will pass on your wisdom and respect for the warrior code to Snowpaw, and teach him the skills that will make him a brave warrior of WaveClan," she made a quick motion.


Leopardtail quietly stalked up behind the cats, "touch noses with your mentor," she mewed the quiet note, before taking a step back and sat down.

Cloudfeather made her way to the rock, a proud look on her face, and a purr of amusement to the soon-to-be apprentices. She nodded to Dawnstar, not exactly realizing she was to mentor a kittypet. She'd have her work cut out for her, but surely wouldn't mind.

The gentle she-cat looked at Sora, and lowered her face to touch his nose. "Welcome, Snowpaw," she mewed extremely quietly.

Sora purred slightly feeling the warmth of the she-cat. He pricked up his ears as he felt welcomed. "Thankyou, I'm glad I'm welcome." He smiled and walked over to the edge of the den and sat quietly which was unlike him.

Dawnstar purred, watching Snowpaw. "Alright," she mewed, "Pumpkin," she called, "as WaveClan's leader, I request that StarClan casts away your name and life as a loner. You have proven yourself worthy to join our clan by saving our kits from a potentially terrible outcome," she mewed, "from now on, you will be known as Flamepaw," she announced.

"Leopardtail!" the leader mewed, and the spotted she-cat lifted her head to stare at her leader. She was going to mentor a cat that killed a badger? What would she have to teach a cat like that?

"You are ready for an apprentice and will mentor Flamepaw," she mewed, "I know you will pass on your agility and knowledge to Flamepaw," Dawnstar shifted, seeing the warrior nod, "and teach him the skills that will make him a wise warrior of WaveClan."

With that, Leopardtail rose to her feet, makeing her way towards the large tom, and stretched out her nose to touch his.

Flamepaw almost backed away from the nose heading towards him. He had to admit he was training under a beautiful she-cat. He tapped his nose against hers and quickly retraced, embarrassment glowing in his eyes, along with pride of being accepted into a clan on such short notice.

"It will be an honor to train under you Lepoardtail." Flamepaw meowed and dipped his head in respect before taking a seat beside her, giving his chest fur an anxious lick. 'So far...so good. Not on anyone's bad side....at least that I know of...'

Leopardtail purred, nodding, "you'll surely make a good warrior," was her response to the tom.

Dawnstar looked at the last cat sitting unnamed and unapprenticed. "Max," she mewed, "as leader of WaveClan, I ask StarClan to cast away your kittypet name and life. From now on, until you become a warrior, you shall be called Ashpaw," she informed, watching him squirm a little like a kit, and purred with amusement. Glancing around, she could see Featherkit sitting near the nursery squirming just like Max.

"Emeraldgaze," she mewed, looking for her deputy. "I feel that you are ready for another apprentice," Dawnstar shifted, "you will mentor Ashpaw. I know you will pass on your love and respect for our clan and code," she shifted again on the rock, "and will teach him the skills that will make him a respectable warrior."

With that, Ashpaw looked around, waiting anxiously for his mentor to touch noses with him.

Emeraldgaze padded foward, her emerald eyes glittering in the sunlight. She bent to touch noses with the tabby apprentice. "Welcome Ashpaw." She smiled brightlyand then flicked her ears playfully. "I'm sure we have a lot to learn from each other."

Ashpaw purred loudly, touching noses with his new mentor, "yes, learning, lots," he purred happily.

Leopardtail looked at Flamepaw, then at other cats that were murmering, before rising to her paws again, "Flamepaw! Ashpaw! Snowpaw!" she mewed, soon hearing cats chanting the same thing, as she sat and curled her tail around her paws. New apprentices were to have their names chanted, and no cat was to not hear that same chant.

With that, Dawnstar purred, her ears twitching, jumping down from the rock, dismissing the meeting.

Flamepaw looked on in surprise as their names were chanted, feeling proud yet unsure of what they were doing. He wouldn't question them though. He looked over the Lepoardtail and relaxed a bit, this seemed as if it was normal to her.

'I'll just have to relax I suppose.' Flamepaw thought as Tigerkit dashed out of the Medicine Cat's den, straight to him.

"That was amazing! Thank you sooo much Pumpkin!" Tigerkit mewed then heard the chanting. "Wait......."

"I'm Flamepaw now." Flamepaw purred and his whiskers twitched with enthusiasm.

"That means you get to stay here with us! YAY! I gotta go see mother to tell her I'm alright." Tigerkit mewed excitedly and bounded off to Goldwillow who was talking to Forestheart.

"Well there's the matter of his hearing that we'll have to worry about, he lost most of his ear." Forestheart mewed and licked his paw, pausing when he saw Tigerkit bounding up. "Hey there Tigerkit! How are you feeling?"

"I'm feeling fine! Spottedpaw gave me some herbs to eat, even though they tasted yucky I feel great now! I can't play for a while though, her orders." Tigerkit mewed growing a bit sad he couldn't play with his siblings for a bit.

"How is your hearing my kit?" Goldwillow purred and began to clean his fur of the dried up blood, rasping her tongue along the right side of his face repeatedly.

"Actually I think it helped!" Tigerkit mused, "I can hear a few conversations about Flamepaw, Ashpaw, and Snowpaw clearly!"

"Oh really! You'll be able to hear StarClan as clear as day!" Forestheart purred with amusement and cuffed his uninjured ear.

Leopardtail purred, "Flamepaw, would you like me to show you to the apprentice den?" she mewed, "then, if you'd like, we can share fresh-kill from the fresh-kill pile and I'll tell you the ranks of the cats in our clans, and about some of us..." she offered, "and once you're settled into camp, maybe tomorrow or the next day, I'll show you our clan boundaries," she mewed, hoping not to overwhelm the new apprentice with her suggestions. "We'll just work as quickly or slowly as you can adjust. It may take a while, so I'm willing to be patient."

Ashpaw looked at Emeraldgaze curiously, "how long 'till you think I can become a warrior?" he bounced a little, "I wanna get really strong and be able to hunt mice, and be all good at stuff like all of the clan born cats!"

Featherkit looked at Tigerkit, "Tigerkit! Did you see? Pumpkin got apprenticified! He's a real strong cat, I think he'll be a warrior soon!" she mewed, hurrying to her brother, and placing a paw on his shoulder to lick his uninjured ear playfully, "I wanna get older to play fight with him and show him I'm all strong, just like him! I'll be able to take down mean badgers like the one that hurt you, and go 'grawr'!" she mewed as she leapt onto a nearby leaf, her little claws extended and bit into the leaf, dropping it and looking proudly around, before hurrying back to her brother, "like that!"

"It would be very thoughtful of you to show me around. We could do any of this whenever you'd like Lepoardtail, I'm patient." Flamepaw meowed respectfully and his tail flicked.

"Alright, how about training now? The sun's still high..." she mewed, her tail flicking up to point at the sun. They still had hours until night. "I'll show you the apprentice den once we're back," Leopardtail stated, stretching her limbs. "Would you like to practice swimming, or would you rather see our borders and practice hunting?"

"I-I'd rather go around the border and practice my hunting! Yeah. So....let's go?" Flamepaw babbled nervously, shifting from paw to paw with an anxious look. His tail, unknown to him, was almost as thick as a fox tail at the moment due to the horrid memories of almost drowning in the rapids.

"Alright," Leopardtail mewed, suspiciously eyeing her new apprentice and his reaction to her suggestions. "Follow me, and we'll start your training," she shifted, thinking about his reaction. Was he afraid of something? She would question it later. With a flick of her tail, suggesting the tom to follow her, she made her way towards the camp exit.
