Trioleaf's whiskers twitched as she left the camp, her senses on high alert for badgers or other harmful creatures that could endanger herself or the clan. Her lavender eyes scanned the forest, her paws landing softly, almost silently, on the forest floor, some leaves that were decomposing crunched under her feet, though she was careful as to not put too much weight on them, seeing as if she did she could alert predators who'd love nothing more than to dig their fangs inside of a nice and juicy cat.

'Marigold....yarrow, poppyseeds, goldenrod...marigold, yarrow, poppyseeds, goldenrod...' Trioleaf chanted in her head, her tail swishing back and forth in time with her thoughts. It was like a metronome, keeping her thoughts locked in her head. She needed to find these items, she was very short on them due to some training between Warriors and their apprentices. Usually both of them were injured from little to a lot. But mainly she was concerned about surprise attacks and not having enough to save a fellow cat.

Her ears flicked in different directions, capturing sounds, searching for danger as she trotted to the field nearby that held the Marigold, Goldenrod, and Poppyseed. The Yarrow was a little farther off, in a small clearing near a rock with a patch of moss growing in the shape of what seemed to look like a mouse on it's smooth surface.

She carried a sizable leaf in her mouth, which she was going to use to carry the plants back to her den. She walked to the field and inhaled the wonderful scent of the flowers she needed for her inventory, trotting over to the Marigold first so she didn't mess up her train of thought.

Trioleaf then set the leaf down, setting a gentle paw on it so it wouldn't blow away and took a swipe a little ways below the flower's head, the flower, with a little stem, fell to the ground and she picked it up in her mouth tenderly, setting it in the center of the leaf after she lifted her paw.

'Now to find the Poppyseeds.' She thought and picked the leaf up between her teeth, trotting off to the Poppyseeds that were not too far from the Marigold.

Hazel padded into camp, lost in her wonderings on the strange scent trail. She shook her head as she approached the Medicine Cat's den. "Trioleaf?" she called out. Recieving no answer she pushed her way inside and placed the chervil in it's place.

She glanced around, looking for signs of her mentor. Noting their low supplies of marigold and other herbs, Hazelpaw concluded that the calico must be out gathering the needed supplies. She trotted out, following her mentor's scent.

Hazelpaw approached her in the midst of her search for one of their missing herbs. Noting that Triolef already had the marigold she called out, "Need some help?"

Trioleaf instinctively fell into a battle stance from the voice that came behind her, the wind was obviously not on her side today. She sighed and then sat down, licking a tuft of fur that was sticking out. Her lavender hues glittered with a bit of anger and amusement. She sat down and wrapped her long fluffy tail around her dainty paws.

"Hazelpaw, I expect you to announce that you are here instead of sneaking up behind me and asking a question. I could have very well attacked you if I hadn't recognized your scent." Trioleaf meowed and her whiskers twitched with amusement. "But that was a stealthy approach, and for that I praise your skills."

She continued to the poppyseeds, flicking her tail in a motion for Hazelpaw to follow. "We need to gather yarrow and goldenrod, I am giving you the duty to get the yarrow. I except you know where it is. Now get going. We don't have time to waste. I had...a dream last night that something unusual is going to happen to our clan."

She then set her leaf down once more, the poppyseeds weren't too far off from the marigold, so with Hazelpaw's hearing she'd be able to hear her voice. She sniffed the air as a small breeze came by, nothing unusual yet....from that direction that was.

Trioleaf then bit a little part of the stem of the poppyseed flower and it fell onto the leaf neatly, between bites she then realized two things. "I just remembered. We will need cobweb....and be careful, the yarrow is shared between the TwilightClan and the Tribe of Eternal Smoke, so if a medicine fox or an apprentice appears, either hide and wait for them to leave, or leave immediately, is that clear, Hazelpaw?"

Hazelpaw's ears twitched with pride at Trioleaf's mild praise, but she bowed her head all the same and replied clearly, "Yes Trioleaf. I'll be sure to announce myself next time."

She listened quietly as Trioleaf spoke. In her mind she was silently saying yarrow...yarrow...yarrow...humm that's y-a-r-r-o-w...right yarrow. Humm wait what was that she just said? Hazelpaw's ears pricked at the mention of a dream and her tail twitched nervously.

She watched as Trioleaf gathered the poppyseed and nodded as she mentioned the cobweb. Right so that's yarrow and cobweb. Humm... y-a-r-r-o-w, yarrow...c-o-b-w-e-b, cobweb...got it.

As Trioleaf finally got to her closing words Hazelpaw responded with, "Yes Trioleaf. I'll be sure to be on the watch!" she flicked her tail and padded off to gather the yarrow.
-----
Hazelpaw's footsteps were light as she approached the border between the Tribe and Clan. Her fur stood on end as the scent of fox blew toward her on the breeze, but relaxed a second later. This scent was stale...simply a border marker. I hope... She shuddered and approached the yarrow plant.

Her sharp teeth made quick work of snapping a good many stems. Hazelpaw glanced up every so often, scenting the air for fresh fox scent.

Finally finished, she sniffed each frond, checking the freshness of the leaves. She snorted and tossed an unsatisfactory cutting. She snapped another frond to replace the discarded one and, after inspecting it gathered the pile in her mouth. She cast a last look around and padded back toward Trioleaf, making sure to keep an eye out for cobwebs.

"Ah ha!" she mumbled around her mouthfull. She had finally spotted a good collection of cobweb around the raised roots of a tree. She neatly dropped the yarrow and glanced around for a stick. Spotting one, she grasped in her mouth and wound the cobweb around it. Hazelpaw's ears twitched happily and the amount. She padded back to the yarrow, picked it and the stick up in her mouth and padded back to Trioleaf.

Trioleaf heard two things, Hazelpaw was coming back, and a loud thud of some creature that was wounded, for the coppery scent of blood filled her scent glands almost immediately. She remembered the last dream she had and a chill ran up her spine, could this be the disturbance the clan was to face? She sat down and resisted the urge to go to the wounded animal, not sure of it's scent due to the blood and dirt overpowering it's natural scent.

"Hazelpaw, smell the air, what is there?" Trioleaf questioned her apprentice and she waited for her to get situated, scents were harder to focus on if you were moving, she knew that for a fact, for she never hunted live prey, but she hunted herbs, which were a bit harder to scent out, especially with the wind blowing.

She narrowed her lavender eyes and looked around the tall grass, searching for a sign of the creature. And that is when she saw it, red fur, that of a fox. 'A fox. Interesting. It's wounded.....I wonder what happened?'

Hazelpaw paused, the scent of yarrow confusing her. Oh bother...wait, I know this scent! "Trioleaf, it's a fox! Seems like it may be wounded...I smell blood."

She padded to her mentors side and placed the yarrow on the leaf. She held the stick swathed in cobwebs between her teeth and arranged it carefully so as not to rip the delicate strands. Her nose and mouth clear of yarrow, she inhaled the scent once more. "Definatly fox...what should we do? We can't just leave it there bleeding..." She glanced to her mentor, uncertainty etched on her face.

"We can't just leave it there bleeding." Hazelpaw meowed and Trioleaf sighed, closing her eyes for a moment as she thought this over. If she brought a fox back to camp TwilightClan would have an uproar, but if she didn't keep the fox under her watch, due to the large amount of blood she smelt she couldn't just leave the injured fox there to die and become crowfood. 'Choices choices....'

Trioleaf then rose to her paws and gathered the herbs into her leaf, picking that up in her jaws tenderly. She knew she'd need this for the fox.

"Come. We are going to see how bad this fox is injured. I will heal him and then I will go look for Rainstar while you keep watch for crows or scavengers. Make sure that nothing gets near the fox." Trioleaf said then made her way through the belly high grass to a small area where there was heather all around, most stained red by the crimson liquid known as blood.

She spotted the fox and scented it was a male of the Tribe of Eternal Smoke. That was just wonderful now wasn't it? Especially since they were on rough terms. She then sat next to the fox and began to chew on a few petals of a marigold she collected, the juices flowing into her mouth. She then put the juices onto her paw and applied it with a gentle paw before she spit out the petals onto the blood-stained grass.

She took the cobwebs from the leaf and began to carefully pull it wider as to place it on the large wound. 'What did he get in a fight with a badger? Sheesh.'

After a while she finished the wound and made his swallow a few poppyseeds before she looked to Hazelpaw.

"The rest is up to you. I will be off. Stay safe and if he tries to move at all then do whatever it takes to make him stay still." Trioleaf said then bounded off, not letting Hazelpaw get a word in on the subject.

(ooc- Dawnstar?! Dawnstar? Typo much? LOL)

bic-
Hazelpaw nodded obidently and sat, cruling her tail around her paws. She watched quietly, matching the rhythm of the fox's breathing with her own. Her mind began to wander, back toward that strange scent she detected earlier. Could that scent have been this fox? She leaned foward and took a big whiff of the fox's scent. Her lip curled in disgust and she shook her head, [i'] Definatly not! Maybe...[/i] Her mind wandered, vague as the possiblities.

Eventually a small movement at the corner of her eye brought her back to her senses. She glanced around, searching, but paused. Could Trioleaf be back already? But then the stange scent hit her again and her fur bristled, Cat! That is a cat scent! But...not a Clan I know of. Perhaps a rogue?

Her eyes shinning she hissed, "Hello?" but recieved no reply. Slightly disappointed she sat again, watching the fox.
