The Oblivion Room
Welcome to Frederiksburgh, a small town that seems to be infested with 'freaks'. What's the big attraction? The local 'residential facility' for those boys and girls, men and women, ages 16-30 struggling with self-injury.
The possibilities are endless within the four walls of the facility, but the rumor of "The Oblivion Room" is one that has everyone a little jumpy.

The Rules!
[why yes, you do have to read these...]
I. The Basics
000: there will be a secret word contained within the rules that is necessary for your application to be processed-- therefore, read EVERYTHING
001: register with your characters first and last name in lower case letters
Correct - john smith
Incorrect - John Smith
002: no celebrity names as your character's name!
Incorrect - Johnny Depp
003: no 'zomgluvpuppies123' or '~*happybunnies*~', just join with your character's name
004: PM the admin if you need a name changed-- she might not be thrilled, but she'll change it for you
005: check and make sure your character's name is not taken in the NAME CLAIM and that your play-by isn't taken in the FACE CLAIM; same last names are ONLY allowed if you're RELATED to that character
006: do not post ANYWHERE until you're accepted unless it is in the Guest-Friendly sections of the site, or the advertisement board
007: the Cbox is a privilege, not a right-- therefore, abuse it and it will disappear
008: be kind and considerate to all people-- members, guests or admins. first letter E. if there is a problem with a member, notify an admin immediately.
009: the admin took a lot of time and hard work to make this site the way it is, so please be respectful of everything.
II. In Character [IC]
001: no bumping a topic... ever! if we see you doing this, you'll receive a warning. if done again, the topic will be removed.
002: no power-playing/god-modding! no character is perfect. ever. this means no Mary-Sues or Gary-Stus! second letter T. Read on what this means HERE.
003: no one-liners or other ridiculously short posts. there's a word counter built in when you're posting, so try and keep your posts above 250 words. we're not going to go checking your posts, but if they're not up to par, we'll warn you and let you know.
004: yes, this site is R rated, for the mere content of the board and more. this means that yes, sex is allowed, cursing, drugs, etc. should every post be graphic? no, but it is allowed. if you're going to post mature content, please post [R] or some sort of warning in the topic title. third letter E. if the topic title needs to be changed, PM an admin.
005: no pregnancies. since the facility is well-monitored anyway, the odds are slim. however, if you REALLY want your character to get pregnant, PM the admin and she'll think it over. fourth letter R.
006: theoretically, characters can drop out of the facility. however, for the purpose of the board, this isn't going to be allowed often if at all. PM the admin if you have a damn good reason why they're dropping out.
007: on the topic of fighting-- it's allowed, but be reasonable. everyone is closely monitored and there's a security system in the facility. fifth letter N. the odds of you getting away with beating the crap out of Little Johnny is pretty slim.
008: the facility IS co-ed from ages 16-30
III. Out of Character [OOC]
001: for now, only student residents are allowed to join. this means no Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, etc. yet.
002: all residents under the age of 18 must attend 'classes'. essentially, they will be home-schooled by facility teachers. sixth letter I.
003: all residents of the facility have some sort of struggle with self-injury. this means that everyone is in some sort of therapy session for whatever reason. there can and will be disagreements amongst students and faculty, but isn't that expected?
004: try and keep the ages spread out. seventh letter T. we don't want a million angsty teenagers or a million thirty year olds.
005: suggestions are always welcome-- just post them in the HELP DESK forum.
IV. Everything Else
001: this site covers a LOT of touchy subjects, so please be considerate with all character and roleplayer individuality. characters of all sexualities and races are welcomed! therefore, if you have a problem with it... get out.
002: only advertise in the ADVERTISEMENT BOARD. and yes, we mean ONLY. if you're massively sending out PMs or flooding the Cbox, we will not tolerate it.
003: if you're going away, post an absence notice in the ABSENCES BOARD so we don't accidentally erase you.
004: activity checks will come around approximately every month. if you don't have an absence notice posted, and you haven't replied in the check, expect your account to be deleted.
005: if you have something to say to someone privately, PM them! don't clutter up the bottom of a post or the Cbox.
006: all of the content on The Oblivion Room is copyright to its respective owners. that means, you cannot steal graphics, posts, codes, or anything else without violating plagiarism laws or a person's privacy and individuality. eighth letter Y.
008: the rules, like anything else, is liable to change. therefore, keep a heads-up in the NEWS & UPDATES forum for anything important.
009: be nice to everyone & have fun! ♥
010: on a serious note, this is a very very controversial site. if you or someone you know is self-injuring, please, get help. self-injury of all sorts is incredibly dangerous and a painful struggle. the admin knows personally what the battle is like, and she encourages you to check out SAFE-HAVEN if you are in fact struggling.
011: oh, and your secret word? put together the mentioned eight letters throughout the rules and put it in the designated spot in your application :]
