i could have sworn i made one last year when i made my profile but i couldn't find it so i apologize.ill have to take new pics but any ways i was curious what to do next i want to do a posi rear with like 3.42 gears but all my friends tell me not to and im not going to like it i have a internaly stock rebuilt 305 tbi with hedman headers y pipe and a 3 inch flowmaster catback.open element air filter.ultimate tbi mods.msd coil, accel cap and rotor and plugs.8 mm wires.and a fully built 700r4 trans ive never been to 1/4 mile but i think it will run high 14s well i hope anyways lol. but what do you guys think i either want to do rear end and suspension or swap to carbd to get it ready for a 350 carbed to be dropped in

I would do the rear...i have a '91 r/s and those gears are tall stock...2.73 for me. I have a 3;27 I just bought (posi/disc) and am putting that in over the winter....should be a little better outta the box. Suspension is always something you want to do regardless but, depending on how bad your suspension is now, gears would probably be more of a bang for your buck.

3.42's over stock will probably help you more out of the hole. It's a very 'streetable' gear keeping some of the gas mileage in check. Upgrading to like 3.73 will probably be even better 0-60 times wise and still be able to be driving on the highway w/o taching you up too much.

Do not go higher than 3.42 unless you are adding crazy hp. I have 4.10s and can not wait to get my 3.42 installed.

Figure out if that rear came standard in any year camaro/bird....or something close to what you want and narrow your search that way as many don't really know what they are selling. I didnt' know my spline info until just recently....worth a shot.

If you are looking to swap the entire rear then get a 4th rear with disc and it will have the gear ratio u are looking for

If you keep the stock wheel offsets, I wouldnt go with a 4th gen rear, it pushes the wheels and tires out an extra 2" on each side and I dont like that look at all... Although with a 4th gen rear you can run corvette rims/ 4th gen rims with no spacers in the rear which is an advantage.
