I would like to try to maybe have a meet somewhere other than long island or that far down in NY. I'm in upstate and i can't make it all the way down there. Albany is the farthest i will go. Its the same place every year and i don't think its fair to member that live near or even more west of me. Or maybe make an additional Meet and still keep the hooters thing going. Thanks

Hooters is kinda a tradition now. There has been talk of other meets. Speak to Ed about it?

IIRC Ashley was meeting in oragne county at places... idk if she stopped that.
Unfortunatly we do not have as large an upstate gathering of people as we do from LI, NYC. We have been meeting at that hooters as long as we have been a club, the only way that would stop i think is if they cannot accommodate us because of our size... (which is growing) We all have a great time at hooters and it is complelty understandable that your not able to make 6+ hour trips to long island. We have people from eastern long island that it takes over an hour to make it to Hooters. East Meadow, which is close to the queens/ nassau border is accommidating to as many people as possible.
What we can to is during the warmer months try to organize a car show up near your parts, or if there are enough members up there you guys can meet at a particular location of your choice.
It is very hard to keep everyone happy.
Everyone would ideally like to meet in their town and unfortunatly this cant happen.

Yea i'm between Rochester and Syracuse. I am willing to drive maybe a couple hours but not anywhere near 5-6, that's a little ridiculous i think. I'm not asking for a change in the hooters thing, i'm asking for an additional meet somewhere else. As long as its down there i will never go, bottom line, i'm sure you guys could care less about one guy but i know about 4-5 guys up here with third gens that would add to the club.

The season is over for now but starting back in spring we will still be having meets in Newburgh. What I started to do was tell people about the site and ask if they wanted to show up for either a thirdgen meet or a Camaro/Firebird meet ingeneral. Most didn't show up, but get the word out in your area and get a location near you for you guys to meet.

Then maybe by next spring/summer we will be a big enough club that since our state is so big we can have a central meet. It'd be nice if by then we have enough members in other areas that the location can be equidistant from most members, somewhere in the Hudson Valley. A kind of NYTHIRDGEN Statewide meet. I know some people will not be down for that but there are alot of semi active/active members like Viper and Danjz who would come out for that, and no i'm not suggesting my area because I don't want to travel, it's because parts of the Hudson Valley are an hour from Albany, NYC and 1.5-2 hours from Long Island and Syracuse.

Yea, hopefully in the spring ashley will have the beast up and running and we can meet again in newburgh or a closer area to you. I'm always down for a closer place anyhow. Some of us usually post car shows in the area as well so stay posted and we can all caravan down to one. tongue.gif

I like the idea of being in Newburgh, I recently moved to Cortlandt and that will be right in the area.
