iv been getting tired of the "system" in my car...the front speakers dont work and i gess i jsut got use to it.....im looking around on some sites and dont the good from the bad. i know alpine and kenwood are big with custome audio set ups and are decently priced so what kind of sound stuff do you guys got?what do u need to make good sound 2 12in subs 4 speakers an amp and a head unit or is that 2 much?

My current set up is 2 eclipse up front 3way 6x9 in the sail panel.... And 2 kenwoods in the back..... Head unit I for a double din that I custom fit in there also from kewwood....

Here's the deal almost 9O% of all head units push out 5O watts Wich is good...... I have an amp I bought from Alex that I gonna have the 6/9 powered..... And I also need a 1000 watt amp for my subs.......

Your best bet is..... Go to a shop that specializes in audio....... Ask them what you can do to have a nicE system in your car....... then go online buy them cheap and install your self..........

OK A brief history...I have been instaling sound systems since I was 16....not to make the same mistake I have seen SOOOOO many times answer a few questions first...

Whats you budget?

What are you trying get out of your system? Feel? Clarity?

Are you looking for a new radio too?? if not what do you have??

Do you know if the current radio(if you are staying with it)has a "real" EQ?

im looking to doa system inthe near future myself.. i have a good radio i just hate it and want a new one.. i have alpine 6x9s int he rear and alpine for the front... here my question how do you get the front speaks out with out cracking the dash.. ive tryed soo mnay times maybe its jus me and im retarted, but id ont wanna fuc up the dash.. im thinkin 1 12" sub nice amp for the 6x9s and one for the subs.. i like clarity and a nice thumping bass but not too much..
Any suggestions.. buget more or less $600.. i have a real good connect at P.C richards noit all places have car shit but some do..

ok you have to remoce the dash pad completely....that is not hard to do....for good bass but not overload a GOOD bazooka tube will do justive without the added weight of a box....but it has to meet certain requirements.....I should start a thread.....I can wire up the whole car speakers amp subs and radio $65. ..... I prefer ALpine or Pioneer becuz their EQ systems on the radios allow you to manipulate each wave of sound individually...from highs mids lows and all in between....by speaker by section it was much easier to get clarity from them....eclipse is good to but I have my preferences......speakers for highs and mids are pioneer and infiniti ....amps is HiFonics.....great amps and they last long....bass is rockford and solobarics.....but if you get the bazzoka tube my suggestion is to buy the tube and put a nice 10 inch MTX...light weight and hit hard enough.....

Do you happen to know how much weight you added? I am just curious cause I have always considered putting a quality sound deadener in my car but I dont want to add too much weight. This is a long term project for when I eventually do my interior.

weight dosent matter to me im not racing my shit so 50 lbs or so dosent mean much to me she has the same power she did when i got her. just dosent squeak anymore

each roll was like 20 or so lbs and i use 4 of them so 80lbs i guess

Quantity does not always translate to quality...trsut me I have seen that mistake too many times.....you have to take into consideration the application(car) you are working with......a camaro is a very small space with an open back....quality is easy with one sub.....a good 10 inch will hit very nicely without all the weight......if you put one amp for the tube...push a 600 watt amp on a 300 watt rms sub you are fine....and you save possible another 20-25lbs. Bass is a background noise the most important is the mids. They equalize the high and lows. Too much treble or too much bass is not good.

Weight doesn't mean shit if ur not gona race ur car. If u care about weight just do the highs. Like I said the sound deadener is for the ride too. Only a few of us have sqeakless rides and I'm one of them. The weight issue dosent mean shit to me because or the motor and trans I'm goin to put in soon. Its your car b4 u buy anythin decide what you want the car for racing or cruising. And don't buy fcuking sony explodes or I will kill u. Lol

Old school here....alpine indash cva1000, 6 disc, alpine components...4x6 3/ways and 5 1/4's rear (convertible size rear speakers)...tweeters in a-pillars and bazooka tube in rear...sound is good but better amp needed...mostly went for clarity and nice overall sound...days of the subs and boom-boom are gone.
