Respect
Basic rules at The Court of the Nine Moons are fairly simple; if you have ever been a member of another Wheel of Time community, you should pretty much already know what is expected of you.
No Flaming: This is fairly self-explanatory. Disagreements between members maysometimes be unavoidable, however we expect any disagreements which do arise to be handled in a polite and considerate manner. All members, no matter their rank, are deserving of respect. Any member caught breaking this rule will be warned once, and banned if the behaviour persists.
Respect: While all members must be repected, senior members should be shown special respect. They have worked hard on the site to earn their title, and this should be reflected in other members' behaviour. Titles are not necessary OOC unless a member insists on it, but all junior members should defer to any senior member. If you have a problem, this should be taken up with your faction leader before you contact an admin.
Roleplaying
Posts in roleplay forums should be written like a book. Posts should be in third person past tense; quotation marks should be used to denote speech, and italics to denote thoughts. For example:
Kate walked into the room, spotting Anna immediately. She looks hungry, Kate thought. Approaching her friend, Kate handed Anna a cookie. "Here," she said. "This is for you."
There is no minimum enforced word limit for roleplay posts, however, we encourage all posts to be no less than 250 words. As a guide, you should try to keep your posts to around the same length as whoever started the thread.
Factions
As we all know, the Seanchan are quite complicated, and relatively little is known about them. That does, however, give us some fantastic opportunities. As such, factions here are fairly open, and you may belong to more than one - you may be, for example, a lesser noble of the Blood working your way up to command a legion in the Ever Victorious Army, a so'jihn or da'covale joining the Deathwatch Guard, or a sul'dam whose ability to learn to channel has been discovered, leading her to being collared and leashed.
For reference, however, here is a list of the basic factions:
Blood (Low Blood, High Blood, Royalty) Ever Victorious Army (Soldier, etc.) Deathwatch Guard (Deathwatch Guard, etc.) Animal Handler (Apprentice, Morat'*, Der'morat'*) Property (da'covale, so'jihn, Voice, so'feia) Channeller (damane, sul'dam, der'sul'dam)
Everyone will start at the same basic level, but here, you may choose the path of your own raising, and go in absolutely any direction you wish.
All new members start out as citizens, until they decide which path they would like to take, and write an approved biography. You may remain a citizen for as long or short a time as you wish. Upon choosing a faction, you will be accepted into it's lowest level. After that, however, you may choose where to go next.
Avatars & signatures
Avatar must be 110x170 pixels, fantashy-ish, and human. You may have either a text of graphical signature, which must contain a link to your bio. Signatures should be a reasonable size; for example, no more than around 150 pixels high for graphical sigs, or 10 lines of text.
Multiple characters
Multiple characters are allowed at Court of Nine Moons, and you may have as many as you can keep active. When you create a new character, you must notify me either via PM or in the Sign Up thread.
