Yay! Your mother does awesome and much needed work, Mestryn. That's really cool. Kalila, *pokes*, that's mucho cool! I <3 Shakespeare, well most of his works. I didn't like Romeo and Juliet, or Midsummer Night's Dream. But I loved Henry IV Part I, Julius Caesar, Hamlet and Macbeth once I got over the shock of having to write too many essays about it *snuggles everyone*

Hi everyone *waves* I'm 17, and will be going to Utah State University on a full-tuition scholarship next year. I've got about a year and a half worth of credits done, so I'll be there for 3 years. I'm going to major in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing (was it Mestryl who was planning on it as well? ), a minor in Philosophy (there goes my White stripe out of control... yay!) and though I'm not going to be able to minor in Russian since I need 3 years of prerequisites to do the minor requirements, and I'm only going to be at uni three years, I'm still going to take it all 6 semesters, that way I can get my Bachelor of Arts. I'd really love to spend a semester (probably start it a year from this July) at a uni in Melbourne. I went to Austraila in June/July of 2002 and absolutely adored it. It's by far my favorite place I've ever visited. Granted I never made it down to Melbourne, just to Sydney and Brisbane and a few towns in between, but it was still wonderful. After uni I'm going to Law School somewhere on the east coast, and I'd really like to become a prosecutor for the state. As for personal things, I live in Ogden, Utah, and have my whole life. It's not a bad place, and I love the mountains here. I live right at the base of a mountain and have a hard time living without them, though I can (barely ) manage it I'm the youngest of two children, with a brother who is 6 years older than I am. I live with my parents, and will until August, when I move to Uni. (yay!) I've got an amazing boyfriend, Matt (you know him here as Matias ) as well, and I'm pretty happy with life. I have 4 jobs: babysitting, teaching piano, tutoring, and a new one; busing tables and washing dishes two nights a week, starting tonight. I love music, and play the piano, cello, upright bass, and guitar, so it's a pretty big part of my life. I think that's about all that I can come up with right now. Later!

*pokes Valia* Yep, gonna be the most painful three months of my life, and all your fault... Oh, hey everybody. I'm 18, I live in Bristol, VA, but I grew up in the outskirts of nowhere in Arkansas. I uh....I'm going to high school and am going to be going to a community college for a year and a half or so to get my general studies degree. I plan to major in Business Administration and Computer science, and minor in English (emphasis on creative writing, if I can) and Criminal Justice. I'm also thinking of getting a master's in one of my majors. (For those of you who think I'm crazy...you're right, but in this case the general idea is that if I decide to switch fields mid-life, or in the middle of college for that matter, I'll be qualified to do pretty much whatever I want to. ) I bumped into an angel one day and she seemed to take a liking to me, so yeah, that's pretty much the story of me n Valia. I uh....let's see, I have school, I work 30+ hours a week, I'm an SM at two other sites and I'm actually helping develop some of the long-term policies at one of them...but, when I do have free time, I enjoy reading and exercise(rarely, nowadays), and I have a certain affinity for computer games. I love real-time strategy, or military strategy, or fighting and all things combat, for that matter; real-life or on the computer.. I have a tendency to ramble. (duuh... ) Aside from that....I'm stubborn and a little ditsy at times, but I'm reputed to be really smart. I dunno. At any rate, I'd say this is long enough.

I AM DA YOUNGEST OF YOU ALL! In case you couldn't tell... I'm 14, and live in the USA. California to be exact. (example of my state's dialect: "I'm like...14 and I live in like, California and so it's like totally awesome and like, tubular and whatever!" ) *shudders* Oh, I feel sorry for the English language. As for social life, I don't have much of a real life one, as my parents are often too busy to take me anyplace. Though the internet technically IS real life socially, becuase I'm dealing with real people. As for love life, I have none and am extremely thankful for it. At my age, I can't think of a worse way to waste my time. Chasing around members of the opposite sex when I'm not gonna get married for at least another 6 years. Probably a lot more...I never did trust my own judgement. My hobbies are this (duh) legos, computer games, reading (a lot of that!) shooting, drawing...and...um...I ran out for now. Oh yes--photoshop. I made siggys for each Ajah at some other RP sites today, and enjoyed doing it. And I think I'll stop spamming now and have mercy upon you.

I'm 17, and live in the United States...err..Arkansas to be exact. My life story is pretty boring. I was an extremely sheltered homeschooler all through elementary school and middle school, and I went to a tiny private school for 9th and 10th grade. Now I'm a junior, and am about to go to public school for the first time-- which has me a bit nervous! Acctually very nervous, but whatever. I've made pretty good grades all my life, so I'm just hoping to keep that up.
I'm with Athalen in that I basicly have no social life outside of internet, and no love life lol. I'd rather spend my time rping online-- I love LoTR and WoT roleplaying. I'm also a big reader, and am starting to get into video games. Legend of Zelda rocks IMHO lol!! I play piano, and love to sing-- I was in choir last year as a 1st soprano, so I guess I tend to sing more on the high side. Umm, that's about all I have to say really lol. Not much to say about me hehe.

You were homeschooled? *tackles and hugz Caylia* I'm homeschooled too! Yay!... Yeah. Anyway, I'm glad to be sheltered. When I do meet public schoolers, I am often appalled at their extreme ignorance, rudeness, crudeness, and lewdness. And their foul mouths--girls seem to be the worst at that point. And the girls often try to act seductive too. Rrr...Yeah, we do tend to look down on it/them-- not on the kids, really, but on the system that produces them. And I'm not saying this about all peoplewho aren't homeschooled, of course. I know some people who go to public school who have good manners and aren't all foul-mouthed--this is one of the best places to go for that! Rolepleying tends to filter out the stupid people.

Well, I went to what was possibly one of the worst public high schools in my state. But, now I go to the best university in the country, so I guess it didn't damage me too badly

*hugs Athalen back after recovering from being tackled*
Yeah- being sheltered isn't always a bad thing. Personally I think it's much better than being all out there and mixed up with drugs/language/ermm *coughs* yeah and uh..other stuff. But then, I guess you might say I'm a bit unfair to public schoolers. I know they're not all like that and that there are nice people out there. It just seems like the nice people aren't the majority lol. I'm just mortally afraid I'll be eaten alive when I have to enter into that world. People might not guess it online, but in r/l I'm painfully shy and quiet lol. I wouldn't want to go to this school-- but my old school wasn't accredited and I need an acrcredited school to get into a good college so....
ook that was rather rambly...

Hey, well in real life...very different lol. And yeah, Cay. I don't think it's your imagination. I've tried to befreind what we refer to (with great disdain I'm afraid ) as 'school-kids'. I usually do, then drop away after they begin the barrage of sexual;y-themed jokes and the habit of calling everything in sight 'gay'. Little kids aren't as bad--usually bratty and obnoxious, but not always, but the older kids...ugh! I'm ashamed of my generation! The girls are even worse than the boys...the guys hardly talk, so you don't have the opportunity (sp?) to see what nice language they use. Don't think I'm biased about this. I am, of course--everyone has bias--but it's not where my opinions come from. I have tried to prove to myself that most kids are nice, and blah blah, but no. I'm afraid I can't accept it. Yeah, and sorry about the ranting. Bad habit there. If you are not home-schooled (most people here are not, I believe) please take no offence. As I have already said, I'm talking about the ignorant, illiterate Californian croud. "Like, oh my ****ing ***, you're like, so tall! You are soooooo lying to me! Shut your ****ing mouth!" ahem. They really do talk like that here, I'm afraid. Most of that comes from an actual "conversation" I had with an old freind's freind. I am prejudiced against those who cannot speak real english. lol Ahhh, I feel better now! I have unleashed my anger! *Sith-lord voice* It makes me strong: gives me focus....

You know, I totally know what you mean. Today was my first day at public school, and that's exactly what I saw. I tried to keep a positive attitude and tell myself that there would be nice kids there, but what I saw today honestly sent me home in tears, and having a complete nervous breakdown. I mean-- kids stalking around in black trenchcoats? That's just scary! Not to mention all the aforsaid problems. *sighs* I can't wait until graduation! *starts ticking off days even though its not for two years*

I'm warning you. Watch out for the newbie 'jokes'. I'm a new person in an area with a few public schoolers... UGH! They also like sex-themed, lewd stuff apparently. If I mention my lack of interest in the opposite sex, the immediately start calling me 'gay'. Children. They are supposed to act their age-most of them are older than I am.

Well, I'm closer to 30 than most of the biographies here. However, my life up to this point has been very full and rewarding, so I won't complain about being old. I really hope it doesn't make anyone uncomfortable to have me along for the ride. I've been married for over a decade, and we have three young kids (our limit ). We live in the Western U.S. I taught in the public school system for a few years, and just recently got the out of it because... because... well, because it was time. I really enjoy younger people (I still think of myself as "young," so lots of you are just "youngER" if that's okay ). I could join in on the public-school system bashing with some insights that would curdle soda pop, but I won't, because then I get very, very worked up and angry. I will just point out that I had many awesome experiences teaching as well. I taught math (remedial on up to Calculus), History, Art, and some Art History, which will give you an idea of how many times I changed my major in college. I have worked as a freelance artist and writer for years on the side, which is my real passion. I left teaching because I couldn't do it and pursue art and writing. I have a few publishing credits in both drawing and writing, but seeing that I spend a lot of time doing that for work, I try and separate it from leisure-time writing. THAT's why I'm here. I actually have considered joining up with one of these role-playing sites for a few years, but never found one that seemed to have the mood, maturity, and talent that are apparent here. You all have my respect for what you present here in this community. (Note to the Empress: I found this site before AoG, which also seems good. ) I have done role-playing in person (Dungeons and Dragons), but never like this, and I look forward to the challenge. I hope you'll forgive me if my posts tend to reflect the fact that I'm still a fish-out-of-water with the world of the internet and digital community living. I spent about a year living in Rome, Italy, and loved it there--I even remember enough of my "Italiano" to carry on a conversation! I never got mugged, but saw lots of pickpockets. I'm sorry to hear about the mugging in Spain. I learned lots of tricks about traveling safe as a tourist in Europe when I was there. Don't know if they worked, of course, but I never had any trouble. Hello, everyone!

Ooooh...that sounds so familiar...the slip of paper falling out of book! *nudges Mestryn* Recruitment schemes seem to work well enough. Anyways...about me? Um um um...I'm in my third year of a Bachelor of Arts with majors in International Relations and History at the ANU; and, horror above horror, I'm thinking of adding an English major to that...I blame Mestryn. Anyways, I live in Canberra too as it happens... Let's see....I write a lot, fantasy and science fiction mostly, and heaps and heaps of poetry; I think there's not been a week that goes by since I was ten in which I haven't written a poem. Scary thought isn't it? Some of it is alright, but the rest...*shudder* So yeah. I'm an RP nut, and often make heaps and heaps of characters...er...where do I RP? Here, Age of Glory, Runelords, and Coven of the Fallen Saints. Which characters am I? Heck, I'm not going to list them...that would just be filling space. I also randomly design pics (sigs, avatars, banner, book covers, you name it I've probably made it) using Photoshop...*sigh* it's ridiculously fun isn't it? If you really wanna know how insane I am: http://spaces.msn.com/vaelyrisThat's me...mostly.
