WELCOME TO NEXUS.
NeXus is an X-Men comics RPG, set in the 616 universe, and set several months after the events of Avalon's fall in late '95. In 2012 after eight years of continuous roleplaying, neXus has officially rebooted. We're considered an advanced RPG, which means all accepted players must have a post that has at least 300 words. We're a canon driven site, which means all players are required to play a canon character before being allowed to apply for an original character.

Ricochet

Johnathan Gallo. Seventeen. American.

Johnny’s a pretty lighthearted individual—he enjoys being around people, and so he’s only too happy to spend time doing things in a group. He’s not mean, nor is he rude; however, he does have a tendency to open his mouth without thinking. Combine this with a fair degree of apathy towards social norms, and you get a guy who says what most people only think. As a result, people usually divide based on their first impression of him—they either love him or hate him. He often cracks jokes, again disregarding what would be considered proper; sometimes he does it on purpose just to irritate someone else at well. This trait carries over into his adventures; Ricochet will taunt and joke with his enemies in a fashion similar to Spider-Man, though he will often be more lewd, perverse, or vindictive to incite anger in his opponents. Johnny makes no effort to change who he is—because he knows people who hang around him despite the way he acts do it almost exclusively because they actually like him. And he’s not a bad guy, not by a long shot; Johnny is simply not willing to be the nice guy that gets walked all over.

Laurie Tromette. Nineteen. Canadian.

Resolute. Laurie's still a teenager and she's far from a stoic, seasoned X-Man that's seen everything and been killed at least twice, but when it comes down to taking action she'll be there. Being a mutant and fighting the good fight were never things she'd wanted; she'd considered suicide when her powers first manifested at college. Once she calmed down, however, and was forced to reconcile herself in the new world she hadn't paid much attention to previously, Laurie accepted who she'd become and moved on. Granted, finding out she could fly went a long way in improving her spirit at the time when everything was falling apart.

Gabriel Cohuelo. Eighteen. Mexican.

Gabriel's personality is bursting with confidence akin to a man without any worries. In fact, Gabriel does have one, large worry on his mind that plagues him on a daily basis: his powers are killing him. He fears what he might look like the next day when he uses his powers, and he fears what he might look like in two months compared to now. Because of the fear, he lives his day-to-day life without any fear of the unknown. He wants to explore as much as possible in his short lifespan, and sometimes doesn't care who he hurts in the process.

Sofia Mantega. Sixteen. Venezuelan.

Sofia is happy as in energetic and in love with life. The Venezuelan beauty is a sweet girl and pretty easy to get along with. Her demeanor is infectious to most; she just brightens the room whenever she walks in. Sofia is very open-minded and likes to be optimistic. She likes to see the good in everyone, but several reality checks in life have shown her some pretty hopeless cases. This attitude makes it very hard for Sofia to interpret 'good' and 'evil'. Really, she is one of those 'shades of gray' types. Sofia sees no 'sides' in a war, just causes and perceptions. Sides of a story. Of course, this doesn't do much for her ability to judge a person's character either, everyone has their sad story, their burden and cross to bear and...ah well. There's always the option of learning things the hard way, right?
