WELCOME TO NEXUS.
NeXus is an X-Men comics RPG, set in the 616 universe, and set several months after the events of Avalon's fall in late '95. In 2012 after eight years of continuous roleplaying, neXus has officially rebooted. We're considered an advanced RPG, which means all accepted players must have a post that has at least 300 words. We're a canon driven site, which means all players are required to play a canon character before being allowed to apply for an original character.

X-MEN
Under a cloud of increasing anti-mutant sentiment, Professor Xavier created a safe haven at his Westchester mansion where he could train young mutants to use their powers for the betterment of mankind. Teaching the ethics that the X-Men are trained for a peaceful co-existence between humans and mutants, the X-Men fight any threat that opposes that dream while keeping any innocent civilians, whether it be humans or mutants, safe from any destruction.

FROST, EMMA

Emma Frost. Twenty Seven. British.

Cold. At least that's what Emma Frost always wants people to think, and it is exceedingly rare when anyone glimpses let alone thinks otherwise. She always puts off an air of aloof authority, detachment, and downright disregard toward others. Sometimes it's merely an air of bold confidence that doesn't heed a person's personal space or abide by certain social expectations. Emma says what she wants when she feels it is pertinent; people are expected to accept it and see her counsel for what it's worth.

GREY, JEAN

Jean Grey. Twenty Seven. American.

Jean is a simple woman at heart despite the fact that she is indeed a woman and those creatures can be complex at the best of times. Jean certainly fits this bill. If one were to describe her, her most prominent emotional feature, it would be caring. Jean is always looking out for those that are either under her charge or in her heart. As a telepath, she can sometimes feel things too deeply. She is well skilled at shielding her mind from the thoughts of others, but it isn't always as easy as flipping a switch, and sometimes things filter through. This can cause her to be emotional, or moody - depending upon the situation. Of course, she can't blame it all on her telepathy, her natural emotional fuse is short and quick to light. Anything can really set her off, it doesn't matter the topic. The good thing about her though, is that when the storm clears, she is humble enough to apologize and make amends where necessary.

PROFESSOR X

Charles Xavier. Fifty Five. American.

Conflicted. Charles Francis Xavier is an ardent believer in Humans and Mutants living side-by-side in peace. Unfortunately in an imperfect world there are more obstacles than opportunities in making his dream reality. The Professor is a man of peace, holding the X-Men accountable to a Zero Kill Count (where possible), but trained in the art of war; once an active soldier in Korea and a combatant many times in recent years from his home to the edge of the known universe. He can be strict as a drill instructor, or as kind hearted as a Father depending on what he feels is necessary to help others through difficult times.

PSYLOCKE

Elizabeth Braddock. Twenty Seven. British.

Coy, coquettish, and audacious whether it is with an associate or if it is with an opponent on the battlefield, Elizabeth Braddock can often be mistaken for being aloof and lofty by those who do not know her well enough. Elizabeth Braddock is a lady and carries herself as such embodying elegance, intelligence, and grace however her true desire to be a warrior brings out her sense of adventure, action, strength, courage, and honor. Even being a telepath, Elizabeth prefers to rely on her strength and skill in accordance with her abilities.

RICTOR

Julio Richter. Twenty. Mexican.

Growing up without the luxury of entertaining lofty ideals has placed Rictor somewhere between cynicism and complete naivety. A series of jarring events since the loss of his father and the onset of his powers has taught him to expect the worst of things, and enjoy small victories. Though his could be interpreted as cynicism, his inverted expectations don't impede his actions but rather motivate them. Struggling fruitlessly against the evils of the world may be frustrating and thankless, but allowing them to continue is almost always worse.

SUNPYRE

Leyu Yoshida. Twenty Four. Japanese.

Leyu Yoshida would probably be described by others that only know her as an acquaintance as a quiet, calculating, business-oriented, intelligent, somewhat manipulative woman. Leyu is indeed quiet, calculating, professional about most of her tasks, and very intelligent. She's not as manipulative as she is stubborn. She'd only come off as manipulative because her stubbornness would knock down options and alternatives left and right. Conveniently, it is usually her preference left standing. It is possible to outmaneuver her, but it won't be pleasantly easy and it'll likely cost you something in the long run. Weigh your options carefully before opting to back Leyu into a corner.

WARPATH

James Proudstar. Twenty Four. Native American.

James has a very dark past, and it’s had a profound effect on his life, in ways both good and bad. The death of his brother hit James extremely hard, and it was mainly due to this that he became so bitter and angry. James has grown up to be very violent, and his anger has served only to compound his temper, which had always been quick. He becomes angry quickly, especially if the right buttons are pushed. Insults about his brother and his tribe are extremely effective, as are insults about those he cares about. The great amount of deaths he’s had to deal with in his life--all of them of friends and relatives--has given him an indifference to death. This is easily recognizable when he fights--like Wolverine, he is unafraid to kill if he must. But he is not a mindless killer, and he will stop short of killing someone he doesn’t have to, unless he’s driven into a blind rage.

WOLVERINE

Logan. One Hundred+. Canadian.

There's no other word to describe Logan's personality than gruff. Wolverine is a no non-sense man. Either he tells you like it is or he'll ignore you completely. Logan's personality does side with the more brusque and dangerous when he approaches newcomers. He's likely to forgo all standards of greeting like: "Hi, I'm Logan, what's your name?" to simply say "Hey," and get to the point of his conversation. Deep within Logan struggles with his own humanity. While he may intentionally act gruff and animalistic, he secretly desires to be more mundane at times and to be more approachable. But the more he thinks about being around people, the more he cares less to do so, and he finds himself in a loop of caring then not caring, which can psychologically beat him down. His personality can easily clash with the more uptight people, and he often finds himself in arguments and spats--sometimes just to prove his point, and other times because he fells like being an asshole.
