Welcome to the Character Activity list. Here you will find the current status of active characters at Nexus. This list is designed to help players keep tabs on their activity: after one week a character is considered inactive, then an additional week later they are considered abandoned due to inactivity.
Activity consists solely of an acceptable post being placed on any of the current IC forums available to players.
If a player cannot post, they can create a thread in the forum "From the Players" indicating why they cannot post and how long they will be delayed so both players interacting with that player’s characters and the Admins/Mods know how long that player (and their characters) will be unavailable.
If you were the last person to post in a thread, and your character is waiting on another character's response, contact an Admin/Mod and let them know you are waiting on another character. Your one character waiting on another character has their deadline pushed back to compensate for the delay.

Additional Rules, Disclaimers, Clarifications…
0. Characters that have not posted within 6 days of their last post. After 6 more, full days, these characters will be considered abandoned and be put up for Adoption without warning at the end of the date stated. [8 AM GMT is 3 AM EST/12 AM PST/4 PM Hong Kong.]
1. It is the player’s responsibility to ensure their character does not go Inactive or Adoptable. This list is designed solely to assist you in this endeavor (as we like happy, active characters/players too), but cannot be held responsible for your duty as a member of this board.
2. If this list is found in error, and said error is caught after the fact, Inactivity or Adoption status will be applied retroactively. In other words, if we don’t notice you’ve been inactive for twelve days, you will be listed inactive as of the seventh day. If we don’t notice you’re up for adoption until the sixteenth day, you’re adoptable since the fifteenth. Again, keep tabs on when you last posted!

Side-Note:
There's been confusion as to what's considered "inactive." If there's 3+ characters in a thread, any character that is not the last to be posted for goes inactive. There's still at least something to work with in the last post given.

Us posted last
Since Us is the last person to post, s/he won't be inactive since they're waiting on a post. BOTH Ne and X will still go inactive. If Ne doesn't post, X still has something to work with. No excuses. |
4. Admins/Mods reserve the right to deny reapplication for particular characters or from particular players on the basis of continued abandonment of characters over a period of time. If a player picks up a character only to lose them, reapply for them and lose them, etc., then it might be reasonable for us to assume your Real Life is perhaps too tenuous, at the moment, to permit yet another reapplication. Please judge for yourself your ability to post in a reasonable amount of time; other players are relying on you to do so. Additionally, this clarification includes the right for Admins to place characters up for adoption ahead of the fourteen day deadline; this ability, of course, is used sparingly, and on a case-by-case basis.
5. Please contact a Mod or Admin if you have any questions or feel that you need to be placed on the Waiting or Excused lists. Please do not contact them if your character went up for adoption and you did not alert them, ahead of time, that you would be unavailable (extreme circumstances, of course, will be considered, again case-by-case).
6. Extensions due to non-emergency situations will NOT exceed one month (including the typical grace period of 14-days all players are given by default). If players' schedules become hectic with non-emergency needs that require excusing a character for over one month, then it would be better to put the character up for adoption and reapply for them later; other players are waiting on you, and every week asking for more time only keeps those other players in constant suspense on when, or if, you will return. Characters that exceed this time frame will be given a [FIXED] date, with no further extensions without at least ONE post, excluding emergencies. Abuse of this system will result in loss of character.
Extensions due to unavoidable (travel with no computer/internet access) or emergency situations may be permitted up to, possibly slightly past, one month but no longer. After a specified time, or after one month, we would GREATLY appreciate just a short little update about when you'll be able to post. Again, it may be necessary to temporarily set a character aside and pick them up again later if things have not changed.
When a Character's name is in brackets, while listed as Inactive, no further extensions will be permitted without 1. at least one in-character post, and 2. a reason above and beyond a lack of time available to commit to the character. Again, other people ARE waiting on you; the pace of the entire game, and the flow of events local and board-wide, can and will depend on your posts if people are anticipating that you will, at some point, respond.
