WELCOME TO NEXUS.
NeXus is an X-Men comics RPG, set in the 616 universe, and set several months after the events of Avalon's fall in late '95. In 2012 after eight years of continuous roleplaying, neXus has officially rebooted. We're considered an advanced RPG, which means all accepted players must have a post that has at least 300 words. We're a canon driven site, which means all players are required to play a canon character before being allowed to apply for an original character.

The grogginess was staying put, Christian hadn't been pulled from his slumber in quite a long time, so either the nightmares were worsening or the others at the Weapon X compound were much more sound sleepers. Nothing seemed to make sense, especially in Christian's current state of mind, but there was one thing to keep intact and that was dignity. The psionic constructs had manifested during his sleep, maybe it was the surfacing of these abilities that had aggravated the subconscious of the Frost male, but having no real knowledge about this mutation Christian was in the dark and couldn't make any conclusions about the entire situation. Maybe staying up was a solution, so that when his mind collapsed nothing but darkness would keep him company whilst he slept.

Blues orbs followed the attractive man as he joined Christian on the couch, he was being nice and seemingly cared for the Frost man more than Scion would have thought. There could be more at play here, but being disoriented Christian couldn't have cared for such and was unapologetic about the smile growing on his face in response to the kind actions. "I'm glad that I'm not keeping you up, hopefully I can fall asleep without trouble later. Are you certain that I should stay on the big bed? There's plenty of space for both of us, if you wouldn't mind sharing space with the crazy guy." His sleepy voice failed at delivering the punch of his self-deprecating humor. "And you're being awfully nice for someone who gutted four men earlier..." There was almost a drunk level of honesty coming out of the Frost male, his mental facilities were nowhere near the level where they should be to ensure that Christian wasn't getting in a bad position later. "And I don't know, the nightmares seem to be getting worse. Maybe a shrink will fix all the problems that are surfacing."

In his tired state, the warmth of Daken's hand was welcome, it was comforting and with the nightmares being as disgusting as they had been, comfort was desperately needed. Dropping one of his hands to meet the one of his calf, Christian tugged at the hand and slowly made his way back to bed. Lying down, the psionic held onto his hand and tugged at the hand to have it on him. It was a foolish move but Christian hadn't cared, he was opening himself up to all sorts of shit in the morning but the protection coming with just knowing someone was there was enough to keep Christian's mind at ease. "This doesn't mean you get to be handsy, you oddly attr-- nice man." Sliding back, Christian hoped that the man would keep him warm all night long. It hadn't taken long for him to drift back into slumber, and it was much better just knowing someone was there.

Daken's inner thoughts were going through several different possibilities at that point. Christian, when not fully conscious, like in a sleepy-like state, was void of his mental barriers and mind conditioning.

He wondered just how much further he had to push him in order for him to bend.

"I'm glad that I'm not keeping you up, hopefully I can fall asleep without trouble later. Are you certain that I should stay on the big bed? There's plenty of space for both of us, if you wouldn't mind sharing space with the crazy guy."

He couldn't help but chuckle in a soft amusement. Christian was definitely the least dangerous of the two of them. Yet he thought he minded sharing space with him. It would be almost endearing, if Daken even bothered to show any signs of having a heart.

Not that he didn't have a heart. He just kept it very successfully hidden most of the times.

"Really, Christian, I think I would be quite safe sharing the space with you."You, however, might not be as much. It were his thoughts. He didn't voice them.

Daken chuckled at his first sentence. "It was necessary damage." One he had no remorse about. Then again, he never had any remorse about most things.

"Perhaps you need to be more in control of yourself as well, maybe then you will be in control of your dreams. It's just a theory."

It was too much of an opening not to be used. With his hand around Christian, prompted by Christian himself to settle itself around him, he simply smirked. He'd be a fool to pass on the chance to get that one step further. For his personal pleasure, and to strengthen his goals because he knew the moment Christian stepped further down that line, the moment he tasted that freedom that would come with accepting who he was...

Well, he was sure he'd become a completely different man. A much more useful one at that.

That's when Daken decided it was time to strike. Leaning forward, his lips touched the back of Christian's neck gently. One kiss. Then another next to his earlobe. Then another one at the junction between his neck and shoulder. It would wake him up. Perhaps in a much better way than he would have expected. He was sure after the initial startle, that Christian's real nature would start to show.

A man can only hide himself for so long, in the end.

"I'm not getting handsy. In fact, my hands are quite idle," he smirked just slightly. But it's time for you to wake up, Christian Frost. And I don't mean only from your slumber."

There was something nice about someone there, it was the first time Christian had someone to truly be there for him since being locked away. The tenderness of the man's arm wrapped around him, Christian couldn't have give much thought to the world around him, and felt his mind begin to drift off into a serene world of slumber. It was nice to be protected, to know that someone was there to keep an eye upon him, and it seemed enough to keep the nightmares at bay as a serene nothingness flooded his mental visions. It was a nice change from the darkness that had flooded him the last time he heavy eyelids closed, no evil doctors and nurses torturing him and tying him down to do whatever they believed correct for curing Christian's homosexuality.

Lying in his serene slumber, Christian felt something warm and wet on his neck, beckoning him back into the realm of the awake and his mental processes were not having any of that noise. The kisses, though were something of an odd sensation that hadn't befallen the Frost man in quite some time. The second kiss, on the bottom of his earlobe, caused a soft moan to escape his lips, it was certainly a turn on, and Christian blinked a couple of times to try to register what was going on. "Stiles, its time for bed, we can wake up early before classes if you want, but I'm really tired." The tiredness in his voice easily conveyed how Christian thought he was still dreaming, but the surroundings were wrong. The third kiss caused Christian to wake up fully, to the hotel room surrounding him and everything sunk in.

Turning over, Christian couldn't help but freak out, there was something disturbing having the man wrapped around him, and especially with the things he was doing. Christian was certainly not happy with what was happening, despite what parts of his body might have suggested. Anger flooded the emotions of the blond, "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?" It was certainly not the most levelheaded of responses, but the fact that Daken had clearly crossed a line didn't bode well with the blond. "Do you take into consideration anything that I said at all? I said I did not appreciate your advances, that didn't mean that because I gave you an inch you can take a mile with it." Waves of disgust flooded his mind, the torture that had been become almost second nature had resumed their reign of terror on Scion's ability to feel at home within his own body. "How could I have thought that having another person there wouldn't have led to something like this? I just, can't do this. Not now, and not without something more than a quick fuck. Can you understand that, or should I just sleep on the couch to keep temptation from playing a role in everything?"

Doing his best to keep his anger restrained, he could feel the polymer forming around his hands and shaping into leather gloves; his emotions were getting the better of him, and to ensure that his natural release of glowing polymer wasn't taken as a threat, he got to his feet and took several steps away from the bed. Everything was spinning out of control, things were not going as he had planned, and honestly, there was nowhere for Christian to turn. He was without an identity, in God knows where with a sociopath, no funds or resources, he was royally fucked and needed Daken for survival. "Do you know what its like to hate yourself for something you cannot control? Do you have any idea what I had to go through to get to this point in my life? No, I didn't think so because I've gone through the nine levels of hell to be shipped off to some facility that wanted to make me into a killing machine, apparently. Abandoned by everyone in my life, no one even cares that I'm alive right now, and you know what, I have no idea what I'm doing with my life." The anger had begun to shed light on the emotional turmoil that had built up ever since being shipped away, and tears ran down his face. The lack of sleep was starting to take a toll on his ability to maintain his composure, and honestly Christian hadn't cared. He shouldn't be baring his soul to a complete stranger, but holding it in wasn't doing much better.

So he was still with some control. So he wasn't that oblivious to things even though part of him was mellowing already. Daken listened quietly, his eyes neutral as Christian just poured his frustrations through his words.

The different name. It didn't pass unnoticed. Daken filed it for later use, but made no point in showing he had indeed noticed. Apart from a brief smirk curving his lips.

It wasn't until the blond man began to cry that he realized how deeply his trauma was still within him. It made him narrow his eyes. He wanted to chuckle, but the words Christian said hit too close to home.

"Do you know what its like to hate yourself for something you cannot control? Do you have any idea what I had to go through to get to this point in my life? No, I didn't think so because I've gone through the nine levels of hell to be shipped off to some facility that wanted to make me into a killing machine, apparently. Abandoned by everyone in my life, no one even cares that I'm alive right now, and you know what, I have no idea what I'm doing with my life."

Daken's eyes turned to Christian with some conviction. "Trust me, Christian. Whatever they've done to you isn't that different of what was done to me." In a way, it was. But the forging of one's character through pain... that he knew too well. Forging through pain to become a killing machine. He knew that better than Christian could even imagine.

"So yes, Christian. I do know."

Standing up, he moved to the couch. Pulling the blankets on top of him, he glanced at the blond man. "Maybe what you really need is start accepting who you are. But I'm done with forcing you to see that."

His eyes glanced at Christian for a moment. "You wanted the warmth to keep you safe while you slept. Do you still want it? I can put an effort to behave."

Everything about this night seemed to be only worsening his efforts to remain calm and collected, to remain in control of his emotions, to do anything that would make him appear to be worth more. Bringing a hand to his face, he wiped the tears off and felt as if his outburst was just going to make him seem weaker in the eyes of his only chance of survival and it irritated him even more than bearing his soul to Daken, who was practically a stranger. "I don't want to disagree with you Dee, but your training was to kill people not to be ashamed of who you are, and I've clearly done a lot to challenge that. I shared intimate space with you; I let you near me in a capacity of warmth and comfort. So do not get self-righteous with the fact that I'm struggling with something that has been ingrained in my mind for seven long years."

Taking a deep breath, Christian hoped that his plight was being shown some respect in his attempts to become that he had once been. "Do you see that acceptance is a long way off, and I am taking steps towards that?"Why Christian felt the need to explain himself to Daken was stupid, it being the only real connection he had created since his detainment the blond was attaching too much of himself much too quickly to the sociopath. None of this was logical, none of it would establish him as a Frost man who thought seven steps ahead of those with whom he spoke with, and it was just another reason why Christian believed his family had turned their backs on him. Weakness was never tolerated, and to be honest, it would have been easier to remain locked away until his mind had caught up with his body, strong and capable of defending itself from something as childish as his very emotions.

With the tensions lessening, the polymer disappeared from his fists into nothingness, as if they had never existed in the first place. "I would much enjoy your warmth Daken, despite what everything my mind is telling me, I believe that its the only way either of us are going to get any sleep tonight." It was a logical move, one that prompted Christian to edge his way back into the bed before climbing in. Part of him felt guilty, for anyone of normal same-sexual attraction, Christian had certainly given an invitation to partake in more than simple cuddling but also, he had been direct about the man's unwanted advances even if it were solely due to his mental programming.

Pulling the cover back over them both, Christian looked into the man's blue eyes before opening his mouth once more. "Whatever this is, stupid as it might be, will take time and I hope you can understand that." He fought back the tears before leaning closer towards the feral mutant, placing a soft kiss upon the man's lips while his hands moved around to pull the man in closer. After releasing the kiss, Christian offered a weak smile, "I'm sorry, that was... rude of me, and after yelling at you." Maybe stupidly latching on to this man, no matter how broken Christian was, would be good for him in the long run, as it was a sign of the man who had never wanted to be a Frost taking the forefront, even if for a short bit. Winston would be furious, but Christian wasn't acting under his watchful eye and would never be again. Winston was, after all, at the top of the list of people with whom Christian wanted to get revenge upon but making such a striking move towards the always-prepared paternal Frost would take time and maybe someone who was a bit reckless.

Daken chuckled and shook his head. He didn't understand. Perhaps it was better that way. He didn't think Christian had it in him to become like him. But the process had been there. Just that the blond man had absolutely no idea.

So he simply kept quiet. In that case, silence was bliss. Especially because he didn't wish for Christian to realize that the path he had walked wasn't that different from Daken's own path.

In fact, he was beginning to realize they were pretty damn similar.

With the tensions lessening, the polymer disappeared from his fists into nothingness, as if they had never existed in the first place. "I would much enjoy your warmth Daken, despite what everything my mind is telling me, I believe that its the only way either of us are going to get any sleep tonight."

"Very well," Daken told him, going back to the bed and sitting next to him. "I promise I will behave." Then, his lips curved into a very sly grin. "I can't control normal body reactions though. Not even I can do that."

Then, something he was expecting patiently did end up happening.

After releasing the kiss, Christian offered a weak smile, "I'm sorry, that was... rude of me, and after yelling at you."

He returned the kiss, even if just briefly. His own hands went to the back of Christian's neck, fingers caressing the other man's skin gently.

It was his initiative. It meant that Daken was winning the battle. Slowly. Patiently. But he was. Soon enough,

When their lips parted, he chuckled a little. He was still being polite. "Not sure what you're sorry about. There's nothing wrong with a kiss. Besides, I was kind of hoping you'd do that of your own accord sooner or later."

A soft smile on his face, Christian wasn't certain what he was doing and thought that he had at least put him in a position where there could be some give and take, something to build some foundation on since the blond assumed the duo would be working together for quite some time. Training him to become at least semi-competent with defending himself physically, with and without weapons, would be the forefront of their mission followed by the revenge that Scion foolishly sought. While a part of him was driven by the need to exact revenge upon the people who had damaged him so thoroughly, Scion knew well enough what could come of that in his clarity that had come so late at night. Was it worth sacrificing his sanity and morals for something that would do no good in the long run? Certainly, a sense of immediate satisfaction would take over but then what, would Christian be cured of all of his mental instabilities. No, logically speaking that would require doing shit like kissing a man with a Mohawk and piercing blue eyes after screaming at him for trying to kiss him. Totally not insane at all.

"Well, Dee normally people just don't thrust their lips on another person without warning, at least that's how it worked at boarding school." A glimmer of happiness was poking itself out, something to shine behind the darkness that weighed so heavily upon his chest. "But if we're going to discuss some things as well as start my training, it would be better that we get a full nights rest and not wear ourselves out so late." Conflicting emotions should easily been read, the boy felt good about being himself but felt disgusted by the same action; a war was waging in his mind, and while Daken's side was currently winning it hadn't meant that Christian was out of the battle anytime soon. "Goodnight Dee," he added before laying his head upon the shorter man's chest, the soft piddle-paddle of the feral's heart playing a lullaby to help the blond drift off to sleep. It would be a good sleep, with someone there to protect him from the darkness in his mind, There would come a time, hopefully, where the mutate would be able to survive without another person to keep him safe, but for now he was going to take advantage of a twisted knight in shining armor.

"Well, Dee normally people just don't thrust their lips on another person without warning, at least that's how it worked at boarding school." A glimmer of happiness was poking itself out, something to shine behind the darkness that weighed so heavily upon his chest.

It was all working according to the plan. That realization, of a plan working to fruition, was something that pushed Daken forward. It made his whole body vibrate with the pleasure and the realization that he was in control. That he was in command and the world could be his.

He'd just be patient and work on it step by step.

"Well, Christian, some people prefer to take their emotions and act on them without thinking what others will say or think." His tone, however, held no accusation. It was simply a statement.

Daken's arms wrapped around Christian as he slept. And while Christian seemed to sleep well, Daken's mind was going through the next step of his plan. The trust was being achieved step by step. And what was amusing to him was that he didn't even need to use his suggestion to gain that.

A smirk crossed his lips as he looked at the blond man sleeping carefully on his chest. A calm look in his face, as if the closeness was enough to keep him at peace.

And all that with just a kiss. It was highly amusing to Daken.
