Best Computer Game Weapon, What makes the ideal weapon for you?

What in your valued opinion is the best 3 fictional computer game weapons of all time, and why?


Personally, I find that the more stupidly overpowered and random the weapon is, the more I enjoy it. For example, I love the weapons from the Descent and Rachet & Clank series because of this.

The Descent weapons look very traditional sci-fi, but some of thier missiles are nuts such as the almighty EARTHSHAKER MISSILE from Descent II, which upon impact makes a huge explosion whilst flinging miniture homing versions of itself at nearby targets, generating such a large set of explosions it physically shakes the level so hard that you cannot steer straight. Literally, it is the best anti-boss weapon in the whole game, hence why I love it lo much!

Now, every weapon in Rachet & Clank is OTT. Especially in the recent games where the weapons themselves level up. What once was a crappy pistol can now be the ultimate spreader of death after a fair amount of use. And the weapon I so adore from the game (and although you cannot use it, its existance is spoken of) is the dreaded Rainbow Afrolizer 9000! Litterally does what it says on the tin; fire on victim, victim grows a massive rainbow coloured afro and subsequently dies! Pure genius!

And finally, the weapon all scientist should be allowed to weild; the Zero Point Energy Field Manipulator, aka; the Gravity Gun from Halflife 2. It simple does everything. It slices, dices, grabs your homework and flings it out the window, it throws bookcases at zombies, it crushes Combine guards with filing cabinets. It even allows you to throw those lovely grenades back at the idiots chucking them at you. Marvellous.





So, what are you three fav. game weapons and why?

Holy Hand-grenade from Worms, because it's TEH HAX!
Ion-cannon beacon from Command & Conquer Renegade (who doesn't want their own personal super weapon?)
Farsight from Perfect Dark (N64) because it really is teh hax, you can easily get head-shots through walls, because it tracks to your enemies! CHEAP

The Holy Hand Grenade is hysterical and a classic. Use that in conjunciton with Low Gravity and DamageX2 and you can wave goodbye to the victim(s) (or if you put Hi Explosives, DamageX2 and Crate Showers on in Worms4, you can literally obliterate the level with one Holy Hand Grenade)!


And Nova; Yes! Ion Cannon. Dear sweet lord, I want one. Its just excessively OTT.

I mean, how can you not think a discoball grenade called the groovinator is an awesome weapon?

Also:

-C4's from Battlefield 2 (Oh so many tanks have been blown to bits by the power of the sticky C4. :D)
-And obviously the all purpose gravity gun scores high on the list too for it's ability to have pure awesome radiating from the gun itself.
