Could Metroid, Super Metroid and Metroid Zero Mission's mother brain be an Aurora Unit? I mean, they do look terribly simmilar, and the Aurora Units are made out of organic substances... Do you think it's a possibility?

It shouldn't be possible. The Metroid/Zero Mission Mother Brain was destroyed. And even if it was made again for Super, which I believe was after the Prime series, she was killed there also.

We don't know, as Retro ****ed up the story in MP3C (IMO).

hehe, that doesn't really disprove the theory at all

One of the early videos released way back in the MP3 preview channel described the Aurora units and hinted strongly that there's a connection between Mother Brains and Aurora Units. The Metroid 1 item room theme played in the background as it showed a blueprint of Mother Brain's room from the games she's been in before.

Unfortunately, Metroid Prime 3 never clears this connection up, along with the countless other holes and questions it doesn't do much about. With such a prominent storyline next to prior Metroid games, it's surprising that it ends up with less depth than an episode of Spongebob. It alludes all over the place that there is infinitely more to the story, which there should be, but rarely is anything deeper revealed. Retro probably needed more time, but Metroid's 20th anniversary month was their unmissable deadline. Well, for the NTSC region of the world, at least.

What we do know for sure is that the Chozo created the original Mother Brain from Metroid 1, and the GF AUs came afterwards. Obviously they stole the technology of others as usual.

Where is the picture from? It seems remarkably familiar...

The Aurora unit video from the MP3C preview channel:

It also happens to be the layout of Super Metroid's and Zero Mission's Mother Brain rooms. (See previous post)

Oh, so this is most likely some similarity between mother brain and the AUs... How strange, I like that they incorporated that...

Perhaps an experiment with an AU and Phazon. Spoilers->

Probably a more controlled experiment than the boss of Prime 3

<- End spoiler.

But the Metroid manga (which is cannon) told that the Chozo created Mother Brain as a super computer. It seems that Aurora Units are the same. I think that the story line was messed up during Corruption. It may be like the comic "The Last Galactus Story". It was never completed, and never will be. Maybe it will remain a plot hole. The video does lead to answers... well, kinda.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS-------------------------------------------->

Now that I think of it, the first Aurora Unit that you meet in Corruption (Which is Unit 242 I believe. If I am right then they may be connected in some way.) has a room layout that is similar to the Zero Mission/Super Metroid Mother Brain room. If I am right, then the video could be showing schematics of the layout for the first Aurora Unit you meet, which is Unit 242 I believe.

END OF POSSIBLE SPOILERS----------------------------------->
