So I promised somewhere 4-5 months ago that I'd have a big surprise for everyone by the end of the year. I pretty much meant AT the end of the year if I didn't have it ready by Christmas.

But, Game Maker 7 was supposed to come out by the end of the year as well, and a beta was to be released before that (I could've sworn it said December 17th, too....). There are some cool features promised that I would really like to mess with and probably implement into NM before I give out any surprises. I assumed I'd have a week off of school here to do that and then release it.

But I'm already halfway through that week, and no GM7. I won't be getting another week off for a few months and my teachers give a ridiculously large amount of homework, unfortunately.

So, expect a delay and probably a major shrinkage to that surprise.

Aw well, we will survive, just as long you you stay with us :) its great that you are even managing with that programming workload alone, so if you could even hear me, I would applaud you. and makesure you get all that homework done, your education is alot more important than this :)

It was just announced yesterday that the delay in Game Maker 7 is due to a new company called YoYo games partnering with GM that's going to "bring a vast audience to enjoy the content that has been created by the creative talents of the GameMaker Community". Game Maker 7 will be coming out in February.

So in other words, GM7 was delayed because a company is going to create another Game Maker forum that's set up so it's not the uber-strict setup of the current GMC. Which allows tons of more noobs to ask how 2 maked charctr juimp and how 2 maked a mmo unreel trnament mario 2md-persun paltfermer rts and then share their edited "click the clown" variations, while the few programmers there that aren't complete morons get worshiped more. Yay? >_>

I assume you are of the latter variety. Go you.

Actually, I don't even have an account at the GMC. I just want Game Maker 7, not a huge community upgrade to somewhere I don't even go.

Anyway, "by Feb 1st you will be able to register on the site." It's February 1st already in the UK, and there's no registering on the site... Time is ticking...

Well, you can register on their site now.. But you can't really do anything there.

Also, I read through the list of what's going to be included for GM7, and I'm not that impressed. Apparently the things that I was looking forward to were placed back on the "to do eventually" list.

So, any estimate as to when this suprise might be ready? Im waiting in anticipation :lol:
