NO ONE TO DEPEND ONIt was a chilly October thirty-first thirty-seven years ago. Sirius wasn't so sure that the Potter's had made the right decision in choosing Pettigrew as a secret keeper. Although, it had been his idea all along. The one year old Harry was in his house safe with his parents. For the Dark Lord knew not where hey were and they intended on keeping it that way. However, Sirius hung around Pettigrew's home and watched as the rat began to sweat. He swung his tall frame into the room, eyes flashing. "You weren't thinking of betraying Lily and James were you?"
"Of course not," Pettigrew replied, but Sirius knew he was lying. The small watery blue eyes of Peter Pettigrew became even smaller as he transfigured into a rat. He had every intention of escaping and running to the Dark Lord. Sirius, seemingly unimpressed picked the rat up and fed it to a fluffy black cat that seemed reluctant to eat the creature. Not that Sirius had blamed it. Though, if he would have thought further on it, perhaps, he would have realized that the cat wasn't really a cat, at all . . . But now the Potter's were safe, or so he thought. However, in killing the Secret Keeper, there was no protection for the Potter's.
The Potter's were exposed now and so Voldemort had no need for Peter, at least, that's what he thought. However, Pettigrew was gone and the cat had disappeared by now. However, the cat was actually a wizard and he had not been impressed by Black's actions. Though, he was unregistered so it hardly could come to the blame of Sirius that he had been force fed a rat, but don't expect him to think of it in that manner.
Voldemort waited until all was still and quiet within the house and he then went in to kill Harry. But the spell backfired on him, leaving only a scar on the baby's head. Lily and James stared astounded down at the body of the dead Tom Riddle in their house. However, the Death Eaters had their orders.
However, with the Dark Lord gone, what could they do? They went back to their normal way of life until twenty-one years ago when the Dark Lord resurfaced as Dumbledore knew he would. He had a new body and everything. . . Bellatrix Lestrange no longer loved Riddle when he had returned to power, she had learned to fall in love with her own husband, Rodolphus, whom she realized had loved her from the very start of their marriage. However, she was pleased when the Dark Lord returned and volunteered for the first mission. Rodolphus and Bellatrix stole into the house of Luna and Neville Longbottom. They kidnapped the Longbottom's eldest boy and took him to the Dark Lord. Voldemort renamed the boy under the alias of Grindlewald Salazar Marvolo Riddle. Most of them referred to him as his first middle name of Salazar, as that's what the boy seemed to grow to like. Ironic that his parents should be Aurors, willing to give their lives to the Order, only so their first born son could be raised and become great and terrible with the use of his powerful Dark Arts. How were Luna and Neville to know that he would be kidnapped? Or that he would be betrothed to the kidnapper's second daughter, Capella Bellatrix Lestrange?
Who was to know that the black cat had been Severus Snape? Or that Voldemort would return? Yet things have changed over the years. It's a now a new generation of children born into a conflict that is far from resolved. THE SECOND WIZARDING WAR IS PLAGUING THE WIZARDING NATION, AND MUGGLES ARE STARTING TO NOTICE WITH SUDDEN DISAPPEARANCES OF KEY MUGGLE OFFICIALS, TERRIBLE CATASTROPHES LIKE BRIDGES BEING RIPPED TO SHREDS BY GIANTS, AND WHAT THEY CALL MUDSLIDES BUT REALLY ARE GIANTS HURLING ROCKS AT MUGGLES.
