Is it possible to collect all of her magazine pics? i've seen many new pics online which were taken by cameras rather than scanned..
I also wonder how can you get these scans...It's amazing...

System response time is way too long at times - so long that sometimes it times out & becomes a page-not-found. lol

That's more of a question for IKK and not IKKM. A while back, love, keiko (Sade) decided that questions about the main site (IKK) should be asked there through comments, the guest book, or e-mail to her. However, it's scan related, so I'm completely qualified to answer! lol When you ask if it's "possible to collect all of her magazine pics," I'm guessing you mean you would like to have all of them in a single file you can download. Sade doesn't have that available, but we may do that at some time when we're all not so busy. Right now, though, you'll have to save each one individually from the site. Pictures that are directly from digital cameras are usually from promotional sites and Sade searches for those online. All of the scans shown on IKK are scanned by me, maxemerg (Izzy), unless otherwise noted. I actually have to search (in Japanese) for the magazine information and order them online. I usually order from Fujisan.com which has the cheapest shipping I've found so far. It does take a little while, though, and you have to know exactly what you're looking for. Lisa of http://www.three-lights.net helps us out with scans, now and then, because it costs me an average of $15 per magazine. I've spent $2,000 or more on magazines during the life of IKK. Lisa's scans are MUCH better than mine, and she's spent waaay more than I have on magazines, hardware, and software because she was doing this sort of thing long before Sade even thought of starting a Keiko fansite. If you want to get some of the magazines yourself (older ones will probably be impossible to find unless you get them from an online auction site), I already have the following information in the Keiko Kitagawa Information File which is in the Cover Story forum: | QUOTE | A list of information for ordering magazines in which Keiko appears is kept at this link and a guide on how to order from Fujisan can be found here.
|
I'm also compiling an info file for IKK and IKKM with FAQ sections. Questions like this will be answered in those once they're done.
@RC: Yes.. IKK Magazine is often very slow. There's nothing we can do about that unless we move from this free server that we're on. We don't have the time or money to do that right now, though. It may be especially slow because you're so far away.

Can't get the filter above the "Today's Active Topics" table work for more than 1 day, e.g. if I opt for the past week's topics, it still shows the past day's only - or is it just me?

Not just you. It doesn't work. The problem was brought up in the old thread similar to this one. (We haven't had a place for people to ask things since the restructuring because of some technical issues)
The main problem was that the "View New Posts" link at the top of the page didn't work, either. The one you mention is a good substitute, but won't go past 24 hours.
Invisionfree is kinda broken in a lot of things, and that's why it's free. lol. I'm glad you're bringing this stuff up, though. It will make writing the FAQ a little easier.
There are some plans to "upgrade" to zetaboards or just switch to a free script that we could run on my (or Sade's) web server. However, not one of us has the time to really learn everything we would need in order to feel comfortable with moving everyone to a new system. We don't want to just drop y'all into something 1/3 finished.

Ah, that explains some other wierd things I've encountered here lol - they're relatively minor issues, tho.

Wouldn't it be nice if free Invision actually supported MySQL backup functions for archival purposes. Also you'd have the DB backup and settings to query in case board screws up during Zeta upgrade/conversion. Can anyone say Support ticket? *looks around*

Yeah, backup is essential for any board upgrading/conversion. We could also start a new board afresh while maintaining a link to the old, archived board if the latter couldn't be successfully converted.

In the case of zetaboards, i don't think that's possible.

The link to the old board isn't necessarily directly from the new board (tho that's preferable if technically feasible) - it could be linked from the main site or, preferably, a thread in the new board. But since I think the performance of the current board, for now, is still acceptable, unless it deteriorates to an unacceptable level, "restarting from scratch" should only be the last resort (that is, when direct transference of existing board contents is impossible).

LOL.. for some reason I almost don't understand what you're saying. I mean I do... but almost not. Kinda how people listening to me -talk- feel. (I talk even weirder than I write!)
Actually what I just wrote is sorta how I talk. I don't know. I've been feeling odd lately. Maybe it's the warmer weather... but liking warmer weather isn't like me, so I don't know what's up.
OK. so anyway, the point is that we DO plan some time to do something about the board. Zetaboards is essentially the new Invisionfree and would be an easy free midpoint until I/staff can take the time to study some script systems and things and create a board completely under our control. But right now it seems that the skins and things are completely different and Sade would have to start from scratch. So, maybe there will be a conversion around the time she starts the next layout.
My dream is to have a totally integrated php driven site with a forum and downloads and all sorts of stuff. BUT! IKK isn't mine so I can only suggest things... and nobody's got the time to really do any of that anyway. LOL

That'd be an ideal - it's a bit strange that the current forum is at a different addr. linked from the main site, even tho this isn't uncommon at other sites. But to casual users like myself, it doesn't matter much. :)

I've got several pics which you haven't put on site. How can I contact you to send these pics to you? love_keiko that email seems unavailable.
