oh poo!

well basically i originally wrote that disney was stupid to pass up such a great potential franchise. that the casting completely ignores the racial diversity of the original series, that "cowboy bebop" starring the amazingly horrible actor that is keanue reeves is a grave mistake (it should in fact be a big budget japanese live action starring yusuke iseya, but that's just my opinion) and that i plan to see the new johnny depp movie "public enemies" =)

I'm a bit on the sidelines about The Last Airbender. :\ It looks good, but I don't like the casting too much. (Though Dev Patel could pull off Zuko, despite the obvious difference)

Keanu as Spike? No. Just...no. I don't want to think about it.

Now, Johnny Depp's Public Enemies, I want to see soooooooooooooooooooooo bad! XD It looks so awesome!

it HAS to be yusuke iseya! he has the look (ever seen sukiyaki western django? his killer smile? obnoxious hairdo?), the swagger, and looks born to wear suit! he used to be a freakin' prada model---of course he would wear a suit and tot a cigarette! i would totally believe it!

i haven't seen the anime in ages tho...so i have no idea who i would cast as faye, jet, or ed---but i never imagined the movie in any other language but japanese...*sighs* they're also making a live action bubblegum crisis. but its joint between japan, france, and the states if i remember correctly...

I always think it's both a good & a bad thing of the recent trend of Hollywood's adaptations of Japanese anime/manga. The good thing is that Japanese anime/manga culture has entered the global centerstage of mainstream entertainment, while the bad thing is that Hollywood is running dry of its creative juices.

And about Keanue Reeves, I think his being cast is due to a consideration of the Asian markets - he's popular there in Japan & other East Asian countries/regions, albeit due to his "pretty face." :rolleyes:

lots of my co-workers are on hype since the Avengers movie is now showing to theatres, I'll watch on weekends lot of things to do (darn what a loser I am ) :(
