I guess that is what I mean. I enjoyed there jokes only to a point and that they really got old. I wouldn't want a group of fawning fans either.

Perhaps she quit showbiz or can't get anywork in it. I guess there are people out there who don't feel the limelight is for them after they've tried it. But as for not getting work having sailor mercury on your CV must mean quite a bit. I bet 1/2 the teenage girls in Japan tried to land the senshi roles, heh.

QUOTE (,Jul 09 @ 2006 - 07:25 PM)
From Hama Chisaki's wiki.theppn.org entry:

"Around autumn of 2004, Hama Chisaki changed her stage name to Rika, a change which was first noticed in the credits of the Special Act of PGSM. An explanation was never given, and her fan pages are still under the name of Hama Chisaki. Some fans speculated that she was forced to shed the stage name of "Hama Chisaki" after leaving the agency which has the trademarks for that name. However, without an official explanation, this remains speculation.

"Currently, she has stopped activity in the entertainment world. Informally, the reason given was that she has various things going on. Formally, the reason has yet to be explained."

It would be one thing to take a break from tv and movies, but the fact that she doesn't even appear in fashion magazines anymore means that *something* must have happened.  I hope we find out someday, and I hope she's happy with whatever situation she's in right now.

well uh that magazine thing couldda partially have been caused by the fact that the magazine she was doing stuff for stopped... it could be cause and effect of effect and cause... who knows...

Good point.  There are lots of magazines for young girls' fashion, and many of the models float from one to another or appear in more than one at the same time.  It seems like if she decided to say, concentrate on school or something, she would still be around a *little* bit, unless she did do something to anger the magazine itself.

It kind of smells like a scandal to me, though.  When Japanese idols make even a little slip-up, it is the *norm* for them to be "erased."  Fans of the Hello! Project are probably familiar with this. :(

what happened on that project

I personally would be disapointed if we never saw her again in showbiz. Her songs 'koi suru soldier' and 'yakusoku' are 2 of my favourite j-pop songs and get abused a lot on my ipod, heh. A lot of people may never have realised that she had an idol dvd out before she even did sailor moon although those idol dvds are the too young for my taste type, heh. But if she gone from showbuisness for good, guess that's that, no point crying over it I guess, be a shame nontheless.

@Lord of Nightmares
One of the singers, Ai Kago, had a picture of her taken by a tabloid while she was hanging out in a restuarant with some of her friends, and she was smoking a cigarette.  This was a few days shy of her 18th birthday, and the law in Japan is 20 to smoke.  Her upcoming single was cancelled, as well as all her tv and stage appearances.  A morning show which featured her was already filmed, and they cut her out of it and ran a short show.  All of her merchandise was pulled out of stores.  She's *gone* until they decide to bring her back.  Unfortunately, she was part of a duo, so her partner can't release any music now either. :(

ya I remember that... thats kinda sad when that stuff happens... but ya... I dunno... things are weird like that sometimes...

Its a shame because I could confirm whether I screwed up or not because it used to appear on amazon but can't find it anymore, oh well. I'll asume I'm mistaken but I'll keep looking for it, heh.
