And it's almost 5 months before the film opens. Some big names in both the cast & staff. :)
Spotted a significant typo in that article (America didn't participate in WWI lol).

ooohh are they going to start campaigning for the movie?...
*for some reason I couldn't grab that single keiko pic on that link sigh..they've really sealed it up (even the source page, they're really done a good job at hiding the picture link to me )

For people interested in the significance of the title who have no interest in astronomy, if you look up at the sky at noon in Tokyo on June 13, the opening day of the movie, then you will not see this: ( Posted Image) Because you'll be blinded by the Sun, the unassuming little yellow dot in the middle of the picture. Immediately below the Sun is Orion, so Orion will set with the Sun, and won't be visible in the night sky either for the next few weeks. So the only Orion in Midsummer is that musical score that Keiko's character gives to Tamaki Hiroshi's character. (Sky chart thanks to Heavens-Above. I know its pixel size breaks the rules, but it's only 9 KB, so I humbly beg for a dispensation.)

It's the Earth's atmosphere which makes Orion, along w/ other celestial objects except the Sun, invisible in that part of the Earth during daytime in that period of the year - if the atmosphere was gone, you could see it even during daytime (your eyes would be hurted by the Sun, tho lol).

It's still the sun's fault. lol I mean, if it didn't light up the planet and its atmosphere the way it does, we'd see space a lot.
I looked at the trailer and I'm far far far less than impressed. I think Keiko is being used to save another bad production.
(The sky chart above doesn't break the rules at all. 500x500 pixels is the maximum allowed. The 500x300 limit is for sig. banners.)

Of course, if the Sun was gone, you'd also see Orion under the same other conditions (& your eyes also wouldn't be hurted lol), but the same case can also be said for the Earth's atmosphere - just consider if you're on the Lunar surface, you wouldn't have that problem. So it's actually an interaction of the two factors, the Sun & the atmosphere, that leads to that effect - they're both "guilty" for that. lol
And it's just a Japanese movie of nowadays lol - if you consider that & lower your expectations like myself, that trailer won't look too bad. :) (I miss those Japanese movies in the old days, & hope there'd be another Kurosawa, etc. *sigh* )
