I think I've seen that before - looks like a free mag for dissemination at chic venues &/or cinemas, or what? But since it's sold at YesAsia, it's not a free mag, & it's even quite expensive. Hmm... Anyone?

According to the website, it contains a closeup on three newly blooming actresses, Kitagawa Keiko, Yoshitaka Yuriko and Ueno Juri, among other things.

I can't tell how much Keiko-material it contains, and after the disappointement with the "Acctress Make-up" book (only five pictures of Keiko), I'm not buying anything unless I know exactly what it is and Keiko has hyped it up on her blog.

It's thanks to "Make-up" that the stars appeared on the shopping list on my little site. By the way, if you're craving for a Keiko book and you don't have it yet, then get the Hollywood book. She put a lot of herself into it. The Dear Friends photobook is nice too, but alas, it's out of print.

I don't think I've seen it, nor any other issues of the same mag, at bookshops, tho I might have seen the cover somewhere on the net.

I also don't think it has a very big circulation nationwide.

thanks for the info :) ...I already have her dear friends photobook..I think I'm gonna give this mag a shot since its only cheap (its just 634.50Php) once my credit funds is back to normal I'll buy that mag along with handsome suit special dvd (can't wait for it! B) )..


btw why is it that there's no mop girl dvd on yesasia whilst on ebay there's a copy along with aya ueto's hokaben complete with subs?..if only there's a free shipping for those items on ebay I could have buy them also <_<

does amazon.jp ships internationally?..

If it has subtitles and it isn't expensive then it's bootleg. Certainly for Mop Girl, because there isn't an official release. (Japanese fans have no idea why.) I've heard there's a bootleg box set based on the TV rips with English subtitles from TimeLesSub for the first five episodes, and something that seems like English for the rest.

Hokaben costs 14,148 yen and doesn't have subtitles listed.

Not that I expect it to. Series don't come with subtitles, not even Japanese subtitles. Low budget movies also don't have subtitles. Movies with some success have Japanese subtitles for the deaf or hard of hearing. Successful movies, or those expected to be a success may have English subtitles.

As for Mop Girl: Download it. I very much like to see people buy legit products to support Keiko, but if they don't want to sell it to us then there's no revenue lost if we get it some other way.

I've been surprised that the Mamiya Kyodai DVD has Eng. subs.

That's why I used the word "expected". But that's a guess on my part. It may just be because Asmik Ace likes to do a thorough job, as it is also loaded with extras. (Alas without subtitles.)

And they're doing the same for Handsome Suit, so I'm really looking forward to it. To the movie itself too, of course. I don't even mind that Keiko's role doesn't seem to be all that big, I also want to see Tsukaji and Tanihara too, and I hope Sada Mayumi can act as good as she looks.

Whatever their reasons for Eng.-subbing Mamiya, I was quite surprised of their doing so for that very Japanese-oriented film (both its subject matter & target audience).
