Xanth had been walking through the Ebony Sands before catching glimpse of a wolf in the distance, who soon after shot into the air with a pair of massive wings. Petrified as he was, his ex and newly-found mate Magpie had caught him frozen on the spot. The two hadn't seen each other in a year's time, since before the fire spread. What a strange way to be re-united, after just seeing something you know is not possible?

Well, anyway, after Magpie dragged the big burl of mass, fat and muscle out of his trance, they (kind-of) caught up with what had been going on, which soon after led to the subject of pups. Now, what type of lovers don't, y'know, make love? Or rather, mate, seeing Xanth's heart was only half in it, we know what was really 'in it' and taking up most of the space...

But, anyway, Magpie let him know about her three pups, one of which died in the fire a year ago, the other two which were still alive. One, she could not find, the other she called over, the pup which she called Khyuu. Now, wanna hear an interesting, personal plot twist to this little Khyuu and Xanth's relationship> Khyuu is not Xanth's daught, but Luminescence Blanche's. You see, Magpie mated with two males and concieved from both of them. Two were Xanth's, one was Lumin's, and although Xanth knew not of this, the little she-wolf did not resemble him in any way.

Except his size, of course.

Magpie went off to look for the other child, and Xanth was stuck with this wolf, who was supposedly his daughter, after seven months of never even knowing she was alive. And did he really want to be a daddy? He was not sure. Xanth was not a very fatherly figure.

As Khyuu playfully swatted him and sat atop him, he just let her do whatever syhe wished, so long as she did not touch his left eye. Even after this long time, the wound hurt; try getting a claw slash you across the pupil! Trying to make an effort, he would laugh (half-heartedly) and try to push her about, also.

A really bad father figure.
