Tales Of The Abyss, the anime.

So I haven't gotten the chance to actually play the game yet but I've been watching the anime series in the meantime. I really like it so far. o3o Like, I'm a strict ToS fan but. ToTA isn't baaad! I expected the art to be crummy, too, 'cause like... it's a some twenty episode series but it's really gorgeous. I hope that the anime portrays the game well, unlike the ToS OVA.

Just finished episode 8. I feel so bad for Luke, finally realizing that he was Asch's replica. Kudos to the VA though, he portrayed his HJGDCJDS ARRGHH NO I'M REAL angst very well. And his emotional rollercoaster from earlier in the episode due to Akzeriuth's fall was just.. So saddening. ;3;

Who else has watched the series? o3o Where are you at? Would you say the anime portrays the game well?

Definitely! It matches the game pretty much perfectly.

They took out the little boy drowning in the miasma and going DADDY, MOMMY, HELP MEEEEEEEE but they added in like fifty hundred bodies on the Tartarus so it was just as scarring. ;_;

Pretty sure the VAs are the original ones, too.

They didn't screw up like they did with parts of the Symphonia OVA. It's like ... HATEJEALOUSLOVEHATE relationship there, because I'm trying to FIND a reason to hate it, and I CAN'T. D:

YEAH I WAS TOLD ABOUT THAT SCENE. I was like OH GOD I WON'T BE ABLE TO HANDLE IT but they didn't show it. ;3; Still very saddening though.

I'm exactly the same way. I mean, the ToS OVA is well, an OVA because of it's GORGEOUS art. I'm sure if the art was more standard, like from the ToTA anime, then they would be able to pay for more than eight episodes. But noooo. ;3; I just hope they make a full-fledged anime series one day. They're really milking profits from the Tales Of franchise. So.

I think OVAs sometimes should either be STRICT CANON or COMPLETELY AU like the Rayearth one.
