lena was hungover.

it wasn't a debilitating hangover or anything. it wasn't really that bad. just a bit of a headache and nausea. but still, a hangover's a hangover's a hangover, so lena resolved to spend the entire day in bed. which was impossible because she had classes. but fuck it - after improv she decided she was going to chunder of she had to sit through psychology. she liked the class well enough, but just not today. she wasn't in the mood to sift through bandura and zimbardo. she was in the mood, however, for sitting on her bed with a cold compress over her eyes and feeding herself crackers. because honestly, fuck it all. she had better things to do, like plan the weekend camping trip.

the idea had occured to lena around this time yesterday, and she'd immediately texted kenny to see if he was in. of course he was. one mention of spliff and he would never resist. she'd talk to tinsley later about it, but for now she was just going to wait for lola to come back from class. it was strange becoming lola's roommate, after what they'd shared back in england. lena had moved to nypaa that summer and she'd expected to never see lola again. and then bam, there she was, annoying twin sister in tow. it had taken some time for lena to stop being a total fucking cow, but now they were ridiculously close. maybe it came from living together, or maybe it was just because lena was still a teensy bit in to lola. but either way, it was nice to be friends with her roommate. it certainly made the whole living-together thing less awkward.

the sound of a key going in to the lock startled lena out of her half-doze, but she didn't bother getting up. lola would get in eventually. finally the door opened and someone, presumably her roommate, padded in to the room. lena smiled and stuffed another cracker in her mouth. "ello princess. how was class?" lena flicked the cold compress in the vague direction of where she thought lola might be - she heard it hit something with a soft slap. her eyes remained closed, and for a moment or two she was groping on her bedside table before she found her cigarettes. she took one out, lit it and blew the smoke out through her nostrils. "you better start packing sugartits. we're going camping tomorrow night." she grinned, then rubbed her brow with the heel of her hand. stupid fucking headache.

lola was beside herself. she had drank a bit of alcohol last night, but not enough to actually make her feel like complete shit today. she just really had zero motivation to do anything at all today. she had a few classes that she already attended this morning, but it was the last thing she really wanted to do. it wasn't that she didn't like school, but it was hard to concentrate on anything right now anytime lena would be in the room. it was safe to say that things were always tense between the two, but it wasn't a bad kind of tension. it was just.... a very different type of tension that she didn't have with anyone else. it was the last day of the week and classes had been the last thing she wanted to deal with. lola was hoping for one of those amazing weekends, but wasn't sure what would actually go down.

luckily for her, classes were over for the day and she could spend the rest of the day however she pleased. lola did wonder what lena had planned for this weekend - mostly because she always had something up her sleeve and she preferred spending it with her roommate - and how she'd fit into her plans. the last thing she'd expected had been to be lena's roommate. it was a bit of a coincidence that they ended up being roommates after everything that happened back in england. she knew lena was less than thrilled that her sister went to the school with them as well. even if it had been a little awkward at first, things were better now. there were those moments when things were seriously tense, but lola had gotten used to getting past that wen it happened.

lola had finally arrived back to the door and noticed that it was still locked so instead of knocking, she'd just unlock it herself. for all she knew, lena wasn't here or would still be asleep. she'd been quite hungover this morning so she never knew how that was going to go. "ello yourself. it was a bit boring. fridays always drag on," lola responded as soon as she closed the door behind her. she set her bag down as soon as she was in the room and sat down on the edge of lena's bed. lola found it to be a bit awkward to sit on the other side of the room and talk to her beloved roommate. "whoa, what?" lola asked in a shocked manner. "you've always been impulsive, you know. where are we going?" lola asked without hesitation. she knew that lena wouldn't allow her not to go on this little trip she had planned, not that she wanted to miss out on it or anything.

lots of words. tagged for lola. i'm so sorry this is late. school's a bitch.

finally, lena found the motivation to open her eyes. for a moment she was staring at the ceiling, with the crappy glow-in-the-dark stars she'd attached as a joke when she was high one time. typical fucking high-lena. hah, see what i did thur? but with a groan she squeezed her eyes shut one more time and turned her head to face her redheaded roommate. "ello yourself. it was a bit boring. fridays always drag on." lena nodded knowingly. fridays were pretty shit. friday nights were alright until you passed out from being so damn exhausted. fucking fridays. lena rubbed her forehead, a little smile growing on her face. she brought the cigarette back to her lips, inhaled and blew the smoke out as slowly as she could. "aww, sweetheart. did you miss me?" lena grinned her shit-eating grin, then rolled over slightly to grab the box of cigarettes which she tossed to london. "help yourself, yeah? mi cigarettes es su cigarettes. or something like that."

"whoa, what?" lena grinned at lola's feigned shock. it really wasn't an odd occurence for lena to just decide one day that she wanted to do something, and almost always lola was taken along for the ride. lena was weird like that, but it was an awesome weird. "you've always been impulsive, you know. where are we going?" "indeed! it's a wonderful life to live, my dearest darlingest darling dear." lena was rambling. but fuck it. she was hungover, and lola made her feel weird. like she was going to vomit sunshine and unicorns. pleasant and unpleasant all at the same time. "i'm going with ken later to pick up his mum's tent. i'm not sure where we're going, but it's going to be awesome."

lena swung her legs over the bed, sitting up for the first time in about five hours. her head swam for a second or two, but she regained composure enough to lean over the edge of the bed and pick up her laptop, which she'd left on hibernate while she slept. she opened it and it kicked up, displaying a google map. "there's a really nice forest about an hour's drive from here. we're thinking of walking north for about ten minutes, then just dropping our shit off when we're tired. sound good?" no, it really didn't. there was so much chance of getting lost, and what would happen if there was an accident, and blah blah blah. lena didn't care about that. all she wanted was to have lola's approval, because really, that was all that mattered.

lola wondered if lena had seriously been lying in bed all day. although, if she had the choice lola would've chosen the same. there were just those days when she wanted to do absolutely nothing and even getting out of her bed to get dressed was such a task. it wasn't always due to the night before, but sometimes it was. those other times, though, it had more to do with the fact that there had been a certain person on her mind and it just came to be too much. but, she wouldn't have to worry about that for a while since friday night was approaching and lola had already assumed that lena had plans and already included her. she didn't mind, of course, but it had become something she'd gotten used to. "of course. i don't know how i make it from day to day with all this missing i do," lola said back to her, smiling a little. it sounded sarcastic, but there was a bit of truth behind it. "don't i always?" she said in response to her question, taking a cigarette anyways.

lola knew that she really didn't need to be shocked anymore by lena's impulsive nature, but sometimes she couldn't help it. but, whatever it is that lena was up to, lola somehow always ended up getting talked into it. really, it didn't take all that much to talk her into doing something. "you're quite alliterative tonight. ... today. you know what i mean." lola couldn't keep up with all the 'd' words she was using, but enjoyed the alliteration. lola laughed a little at the plans or lack there of. "okay, i'll trust your judgment. you've yet to disappoint me."

lola looked over at lena as she finally sat up. she wondered to herself how long exactly it had been since that last happened. she felt a little weird being this close in physical contact with lena, but she'd gotten more used to ways to deal with it. she did her best not to let it show. "oh sure. as long as we don't get too lost and stick together, i think we'll be good." it was true, though. lola had always been the optimistic one especially between her and her twin. still, she was very into this idea about going away for the weekend even if she knew it would go wrong in one way or the other.
