Broken Thunder will be released on 3 May 2007 for PC-DVD and will cost 2800¥ (roughly 17€) without shipping, check the thi Toranoana.jp page for details (all on japanese, can't figure out much).
The system requirements will be the folowing:

メディア (Media): DVD-ROM
OS: Windows2000/XP対応
DirectX: 要DirectX9.0c以降
その他 (Controller?): DirectInputに対応したコントローラ使用推奨

Now why so much fuss about yet another japanese doujinshi game? Because this is supposed to be the unofficial THUNDER FORCE 6. Yes you've read it right, Thunder Force 6, 'nuff said!

I heard that Noise Factory (the persons doing this game) includes folks from the old Techno Soft, but it defenitely isn't from the exact same developers from back then since TechnoSoft is now long gone, bought by a panchiko (or what these machines are called) company.

There is no problem in not knowing what Broken Thunder is since it's a new game, now not knowing what Thunder Force is (especially Thunder Force 4) is indeed to be ashamed biggrin.gif wink.gif

Just kidding, Thunder Force was a series of well known Mega Drive shoot'em ups. Thunder Force 4 is especially well regarded and considered to be one of the very best shmups ever.

I think I've heard of Thunder Force vaguely, but I've never played them -- I didn't own a Mega Drive.

The first shooter I actually played through and managed to get good at was Darius Twin for the SNES, but I take it that's considered a bad one?
