Fade
Fade, about the size of a large dog in his solid form, trotted towards the large fountain in the middle of the square with the only reason for his existence tied to his left horn. It was a small, flat, squarish thing that looked as if it were from another world. It had a transparent blue circle in the middle with symbols on it not unlike some sort of crude runes and copper strips on some sort of otherworldly metal recessed into one end. He was receiving some odd looks from villagefolk, particularly a group of drunk dwarves who had just been thrown out of the tavern.
"Lovely evening, is this not? I heard bandits have been coming into this quaint little village to pilfer supplies," Fade said to nobody in particular, "I wonder if anyone could tell me if the maiden who mentioned it to me was not simply fear-mongering? I would be awfully sore if they nicked any of my stuff."
He was carrying relatively little. A few coins in a pouch tied around his left arm, his square, and a small watch-like object on a band around his right wrist were the only objects of any apparent value he appeared to possess.
He jumped up on top of the wall keeping unwelcome guests out of the fountain and sat down, acting very much like a cat in his leap, but more like a dog when he sat. One of the men milling around just outside the wall yelled at him, "Geddown!"
He simply ignored the human, making it evident he preferred polite and educated company. A gentle puff of smoke escaped his nostrils, the purpose of which was to remind everyone that he was a dragon. Yes, a small dragon, but a dragon all the same. Of course it was not quite true, but for all intents and purposes, Fade was a dragon.
How exactly he had gotten here was a topic he now debated in his 'mind'. Obviously he had been sent back in time, or the humans and other races here would have guns and combat knives instead of those crude weapons they called bows, swords, daggers and dirks. He had not yet seen a 'crossbow', but he assumed it was a variation of the bows many elves had slung across their backs. And as for the moon, why, some still thought it was made of cheese! If they thought their planet was flat, Fade swore to himself he would eat his money-pouch, which he had picked up since he had arrived. They must surely be easily replaceable, as everyone who passed by except the large, furry, horned beasts and the dogs with wings had them. He was yet to meet a dragon, so he could make no judgements there. He would have to stick to his solid form here, unless someone had a hologram projector, because there appeared to be no power sources for the square tied to his left horn.

Mostly thoughts, this one. If anyone who hasn't posted yet could make a character...?
