Hello,
I couldn't figure something out with AutoAdd options. When I enter the URL of the blocked website our school system changes the URL to something like this: "http://10.0.0.18:15871/cgi-bin/blockpage.cgi?ws-session=1526958040" I want that the URL I entered first to be added to the proxy. But when I enable AutoAdd FoxyProxy adds the second URL which is not useful for me.

When I try to open a blocked site, a page appears which tells me that the site I try to open is blocked. That page also gives the URL of the site that I tried to open. I want that URL to be added to the proxy. That site looks like this:

CODE
Reason: The Websense category "Proxy Avoidance" is filtered.
URL: http://foxyproxy.mozdev.org/quickstart.html

Can you help me with that problem? Thanks...

Hi Berk,

Can you please post the HTML for the WebSense page? I can give you complete instructions that way.

Thanks,
Eric

This person's problem sounds like what I had going on. But, they've changed the way the block responds now.

We used to get a generated block page with a URL like the user showed.

On our system, we still get a generated page that indicates there's a problem, but now, the URL shown is the one I used, rather than a random looking websense url like the user shows.

But, I cannot get autoadd to do anything, even if I put "*" as a wildcard. Things still go whitelisted to the default proxy.

The page I loaded was "http://music.msn.com/oasis?GT1=8751" ... I can manually add to the "failover" socks proxy I have defined and that works great.

The "new" version is shown below.

BerkC,

You should define the AutoAdd pattern as <p id=\"UrlText\">(.*)</p> (regular expression, not wildcard).

Mattrix,

Since the page doesn't have the URL which you tried to access, AutoAdd won't work for you. Please wait for QuickAdd, available in the next release of FoxyProxy.

Thanks,
Eric

Ah... I thought the pattern was text in the page that signified a "blocked" site. Not, the url itself.

Still, how come I got nothing when I used "*"?

Also, while I'm whining, I have spent a little time trying to find out how to set the autoproxy myself without having to whine to you in the forum.

Perhaps in the main pages you might use BerkC's example as how to do it?

My problem is not the pattern, my problem is URL Pattern Template. When the site is blocked, AutoAdd function adds something like *10.0.0.8/* . I want that function to add the actual link.

Mattrix: OK I will add this example to the FAQ.
BerkC: Sorry, looks like I misunderstood your question. I don't think you can add the entire link right now, just the domain name. I need to add more substitution strings; e.g., ${0} for protocol, ${1} for subdomains (if any), ${2} for the domain, ${3} for port (if any), ${4} for path, ${5} for query string (if any), ${6} for anchor, if any. Looks for this next release.

I have a similar problem, but that is even more complicated in that when a site is blocked it just forwards me to a site which doesn't give back any reference to what site it was I was trying to visit. Is there any way of foxyproxy finding out what URL it was that was typed previously kind of thing?
