I can not use proxies with port 80.
If i have direct connection (adsl) and I want to use some proxy with port 80 I can not but if the proxy has another port (8080, 3218, ...) I donīt have any problem. I tried this using customersī VPN connections and transparents proxies for example from: http://www.proxy4free.com/page1.html. In the status bar looks like I am using them but if I check my IP address for example from: http://www.who.is/ the IP is from my ISP. It is a bug or bad configuration? |

Hi,
FoxyProxy does not restrict use by port. Are the port 80 proxies HTTP (web) proxies or SOCKS proxies? Do you check "Use for all protocols" or not? -------------------- |

Yes, I checked that option (Use for all protocols).
And I have tried both proxies, http and socks. http://www.proxy4free.com/page1.html <-- try using these proxies there are a lot with port 80 any of them work, when I use them my IP address is from my ISP. This doesnīt happened if I use a proxy with different port. |

Hi,
I did a lot more testing. This is not a bug in FoxyProxy. It's a Firefox bug. If you uninstall FoxyProxy or create a new Firefox profile and configure Firefox to use a port 80 HTTP proxy server, you'll get the exact same results as when use you FoxyProxy. I checked BugZilla but did not see a bug reported about this. Regards, Eric Jung -------------------- |

It is not a bug, the ISPs use a transparent proxy using the port 80 in order you can browse the web, so you can not connect to a proxy with this port using their service.
I have check this with my networking workmates. Thanks in advance for your answer. |

It is a bug that Firefox doesn't allow you to use an HTTP proxy on port 80. This doesn't work for me even when using an ISP that doesn't block port 80 and doesn't use transparent proxies.
