There's a difference in the way FoxyProxy wildcard syntax works and the way wildcard syntax works in Firefox proxy settings that may cause confusion. In Firefox, when you're excluding names and addresses, you can specify only the high level part of the mask, and in particular, you don't need to use the /* to specify sites under the name or address, but it's critical to FoxyProxy. This needs to be documented in FoxyProxy help and should probably be in the FAQ and pattern tutorial. The tutorial could also benefit from some examples, this case being one.
And it would be nice if FoxyProxy wildcard handling were relaxed to match the way Firefox wildcard handling works. That way a user could copy and paste from Firefox proxy exceptions into FoxyProxy patterns and be good to go. Thanks. |

Thanks for the great suggestions. Now I understand why so many people seem to have problems with blacklists. I'll fix it so it behaves like Firefox.

I've pinned this topic because so many people seem to misunderstand how to use blacklists. The faq and QuickStart have been updated as you suggested. Please let me know if you think it's satisfactory.
Thanks, Eric -------------------- |
