Hi all,

I found that in the "proxy details" setting box, I have to add "file://" in front of the path of pac file to get it work, e.g.

c:\proxy.pac //won't work, would alert error when I hit "test" button
file://c:\proxy.pac or file://c:/proxy.pac would work

maybe it's not a bug, but it's uncomfortable to me, and besides, there's not this problem under Linux (my env: Win32 + firefox 2.0.0.2 + foxyproxy 2.4.1

thx!

This is not a bug. This is well-documented in the FAQ. The file:// scheme is only needed if you host your PAC file on a local hard drive. If you host it on a website, use http://, https://, or ftp:// as necessary.

As for Linux, yes, you have to do the same thing on Linux if you host the file on a hard drive--you still must use the file:// protocol (without a drive letter because Linux doesn't use drive letters).

Thx a lot, and I retried under Linux, "file://" is really necessary, sorry for mistake and I didn't read FAQ in detail

and, since IE and Firefox could recognize local file path automatically, I rarelly used "file://"

I'm considering is it better to recognize local file path automatically? or you want to make it 'logic-perfect'?

thx again!

OK, I can do this. It's a feature request, not a bug fix smile.gif
