I have set up a page to test my proxies configured with FoxyProxy:
http://sokbeest.com The page uses server-side includes to display my source IP and the current time (so I can tell the page isn't being cached.) I just downloaded FoxyProxy 2.6.2. I have two Socks v5 proxies set up, AAA and BBB, with two different IP addresses. AAA has the following Whitelist Regular Expression: http://sokbeest\.com/\?AAA BBB has the following Whitelist Regular Expression: http://sokbeest\.com/\?BBB When FoxyProxy is configured to use patterns both of the following URLs report the correct, DIFFERENT IP addresses: http://sokbeest.com/?AAA http://sokbeest.com/?BBB However, if I browse one and then the other in quick succession, in either order, the IP address reported on the second page browsed is the same as the one reported on the first page browsed -- indicating that they are using the same proxy server. I know that this is not a cached page issue because the timestamp on the page is updating. Also the FoxyProxy log shows that the correct pattern is matching, even though the wrong IP address is being displayed (signifying that the wrong proxy is being used.) I can refresh the page with the wrong IP address repeatedly and the wrong address continues to display. If I don't refresh either page for 15 seconds, and then refresh the page with the wrong address, it then displays correctly. This only seems to be happening on URLs with the same hostname/port combination. It seems that FoxyProxy is recognizing a pattern match, then using the corresponding proxy for ALL pattern matches on the same hostname/port combination, even those that correspond to other proxies. |

I've reproduced this on Windows XP, FF 2.0.0.11 and 3.0b2. Firefox is caching the network connection. I'll look into why and post back.

Update: this problem only occurs for SOCKS proxies, not HTTP proxies. Moreoever, it occurs with Firefox without FoxyProxy... so this is a native Firefox problem.
