FoxyProxy is a wonderful tool. It would be even better if it were possible to enlarge the space used by FoxyProxy in the status bar so that the other icons etc are not moved when the text changes between "FoxyProxy: Patterns", "FoxyProxy: Default" etc. It is slightly distracting when it happens.

This is not currently possible, although you can disable text on the statusbar by unchecking Global Settings->Show mode (text) on the statusbar in the FoxyProxy options dialog.
