Title: Can't get it to work!
Description: Proxies don't show up in the proxies tab

No matter what I do, proxies that I add through the options menu are not showing up in the list of proxies on the main proxies tab. I've tried several different things just to get something to show up there, including a "direct connection" proxy setting. The items I add show up in the drop down box as options to "make all URLs use XX proxy" but nothing makes them show up in the list.

I've just been trying to whitelist items, I'm not using blacklists at all, and all I am trying to do is getting certain URLs to use a local proxy (for web app testing purposes, using tools like paros.) I've tried using "127.0.0.1" as well as "localhost" for the proxy, and I'm defining the wildcard URL filters very simply, and have tried all sorts of variations on the theme of *.abc.com/*

The filter will show up in the list in the proxy add window, but when I finally click ok, nothing shows up in the proxy list!

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, starting and stopping, doing a new profile, and even deleting the compreg.dat file (since that was recommended for a problem that sounded similar) all to no avail. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

For some reason I didn't notice this post until just *after* I posted.

The workaround of providing a path for the xml file worked.

I've pinned the MozBackup topic so it's easier to find.
