is there a way to bring back the text display for proxy status instead of the new icon? i need to know what proxy i am connected to, not just a boolean TRUE/FALSE for if I am connected to ANY proxy.

The text display didn't tell you which proxy was used. It only told you the mode FoxyProxy was in ("Patterns", "Disabled", or "Static/Dedicated"). The icon does the exact same thing but with 3 images.
